"Failing" or "Success" is measured against the targets. If you achieve your targets, even with painful cost, that is success. So far, the success of this operation is outstanding.

yes, reverend - i understand - actually my response was to captain brittle yes, there were what could be called jewish terrorists - and of course everyone reverts to the KDH bombing whilst forgetting the fact that the british were called at least 15 minutes prior and told to leave at least but disregarded the advice.....hmmm sounds familiar....however, that does not make it better....however, by the same grace you perhaps give the trials and tribulations of the british armed forces after the war is for a suffering no greater than the jewish people - immigrants and survivors - after the war and those refused entry to palestine by the british.....

I didnt try to compare the suffering Silk, I was simply addressing the notion that British soldiers behaved impeccably at that time because they did'nt and were in no frame of mind to do so, men caught in the middle who didnt want to be there and had little sympathy for either side! as i say not an excuse not a defence simply a fact that has to be taken into account before condemning anyone from the perspective of history!

Total military defeat of Hamas on the ground can hardly be considered a defeat to Israel no matter how deluded you are, they controll the ground, they are able to maneuver at will, hamas is unable to do anything other than run or die in place!
especially when Hamas signed up to a six month ceasefire to prepare for this conflict! because if you really think this battle was accidental your living in diddyland!! The Israeli army had been training for two years in preparation for this invasion at an urban warfare centre in Israel built with help from the US Army Corps of Engineers, and paid for mainly by US military aid. The actual invasion was timed to boost the popularity of the Israeli government in view of the February elections and the US presidential inauguration. To call this massacre of a defenceless people a 'military defeat' is a misrepresentation.

Of course we "built with help from the US Army Corps of Engineers" After all what do these Jews know about 'engineering'.... Money lending is their trait. (The stench of your @#tism transcends even this media) Congratulations on the timing analysis - [It WAS top secret you know] What a pity the Hamas didn't take you as an adviser... But then again, if they wait any longer with those rockets they will end up facing Netanyahu as PM. Good advise Bert.

Of course we "built with help from the US Army Corps of Engineers" Avigdor Eder That's what the marines say. Why are you calling the US Marines stinking anti-Semites? Marines to train at new Israeli combat center By Barbara Opall-Rome - Staff writer Posted : Monday Jun 25, 2007 19:46:09 EDT BALADIA CITY, Israel — In a new, elaborate training center in the Negev desert, Israeli troops — and someday, U.S. Marines and soldiers — are preparing for the wide range of urban scenarios they may confront. Here, at Israel’s new National Urban Training Center, the Israeli Defense Force’s Ground Forces Command is preparing forces to fight in four theaters: Gaza, Lebanon, the West Bank and Syria. Built by the Army Corps of Engineers and funded largely from U.S. military aid, the 7.4-square-mile generic city — balad, in Arabic, means village — consists of 1,100 basic modules that can be reconfigured by mission planners to represent specific towns. It’s a much smaller, IDF-tailored version of the Army’s Joint Readiness Training Center, the sprawling 100,000-acre simulated microcosm of the Middle East used to train infantry brigade task forces deployed in the region. And while Baladia City won’t feature all the pyrotechnic bells and whistles of the Fort Polk, La., facility, it will offer the same high-fidelity simulated battlefield technologies, force identification and location systems, and debriefing capabilities, officers here said. Marine Corps News tinyurl.com/2jvsceOMG, How thick can you be Bertrus2 ?.... 1) My name is Avi, short of Avraham (and not Aigdor) 2) You said: "...built with help from the US Army Corps of Engineers" That, in English means US Engineers. But your quote is: "...Built by the Army Corps of Engineers ..." Israeli Army Corps. Getit? 3) "Why are you calling the US Marines stinking anti-Semites? " I never did. not even you. there are ways of "saying without saying" on these boards that I respected and you desecrated. AND you know perfectly well who I meant Don't you. 4) Yes, the US and Israel cooperate in the war against terror. What is the rest of the "free" Western world doing? Sitting on their arses waiting for us to do the dirty work and never forgetting to criticise every move or action we take.
