So lots on the news here this morning about this super league, looks like no one outside the owners of a few of Europe's top clubs, plus Tottenham, is in favor of this. Talk of the FA FIFA and EUEFA moving towards booting out any clubs and even players, from national leagues and from taking part in the world cup. A league where you buy your way in rather than earn your place never produces the best imo www.bbc.com/sport/football/56813819

It's mostly hilarious. It doesn't have any impact on real football, but to see the infighting between the various degrees of evil wealthy oligarchs and the arseholes who've been f**k**g up football for the last few decades is hilarious. And half the teams who're on board with this seemed to have not been ready for it to get announced. All the German teams seem to be out, including Bayern, which weakens the "Super" league already.
Loads of people who've been trying to blackmail football for years might be out on their ears.
And it seems to have dawned on Man City and Chelsea very late that their owners only own the teams for the purpose of sportswashing - making their utterly toxic owners seem a little more human and engaged in positive things - and joining an oligarch-league designed to screw the little guys and keep all the money might, in fact, not be a very good look.

Johnson's called an emergency meeting. Well, nothing else to worry about is there?

That's Boris for you. He can pee & whistle at the same time.
Well done voice: a few of Europe's top clubs, plus Tottenham -
that's what I said to my son this morning.

I'm sure I'm not the first to make that quip, and certainly won't be the last.

Might be done tonight. They're having talks about disbanding it this evening.
Ironically, while it was a particularly terrible idea, it's probably less harmful than UEFA's current deranged plan for an almost-no-relegation "Champions" league.

I see that one J. Mourinho is sobbing all the way to the bank with his latest severance cheque. The poor, poor, bastard.

I assume that his pay-off was one reason Spurs needed the super league money. What kind of idiot would have employed him in the first place, though? He's been harming his clubs for a decade now.

Yeah, the special one, special for sure, just not in the way he imagined.
On a side note, have to say I've been very impressed by Bielsa, he's got a lot of Championship, and below, type players, but still level with Arsenal and the only team not to have lost to City. Not bad really.

Yeah, Bielsa's impressive. I expect him to get poached away shortly.
Apparently Mourinho's got 23 million Euros for failing at Spurs.

Yeah, hope not, but he's also knocking on a bit.
Mourinho's getting very rich by being a very poor manager still dinning out on success from 15/20 years ago. He'll be back come September no doubt.

Barca and Athletico joining City and Chelsea in pulling out by the sounds of things.
Dead in the water now, but it won't be the last attempt at something like this.

It's hilarious - all the rats trying to jump off the sinking ship fastest.
I think the fact that it's collapsed so quickly is great - the blackmail threat from the "big" clubs was always that they'd f**k off and create their own Super League. The morons called their own bluff. But now it means the threat is basically dead for a decade or more. UEFA and FIFA are fully in control again (for better or worse, mostly worse).

Apparently all 12 clubs are on a zoom call at 10:30 tonight. I bet Daniel tries to persuade them to go back in.😎 All done by breakfast?🤞

Total disarray now, all 6 English clubs out plus Barca Juve Athletico. Oh and heads are rolling too. Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward will step down from his role at the end of 2021. www.bbc.com/sport/football/56824130
