I've been digging out the back of the house which is on a hillside and prone to flood when we have mini-monsoons. Well, I haven't, the contractor has. Rain we've been getting is changing - more sudden very heavy downfalls; they hit the dry surface and run downhill in rivers; any weak points in the walls, they force a way in. So, drainage.

It's hardly stopped raining since the beginning of September here, we had a couple days here and there, but it's been the wettest autumn on record. Even for a rainforest we've had some torrential downpours

It was the NHS, which has many jobs other than nurses and doctors. Bit odd to insist that the NHS doesn't need cleaners or IT people or electricians.
