Again. “ The man alleged to have wounded 10 people in a knife attack on a Tokyo commuter train late on Friday told police he became incensed when he saw women who "looked happy" and wanted to kill them, Japanese media reported on Saturday. The Sankei newspaper reported that suspect told police: "I began feeling like I wanted to kill women who looked happy about six years ago. Anyone was fine, I just wanted to kill a lot of people." They had similar in Japan a few years back but with schoolgirls as the target. What’s weird is that some outlets have reported this story but then said “motive unknown” as he hasn’t claimed some terrorist motivation. As if misogyny is not motivation in and of itself.

one of my many sons has been to Japan a few times - once for a year teaching English.
Japan has, on the whole, a very stable; polite and peaceful society.
This episode is clearly a one off mental heath issue.

This episode is clearly a one off mental heath issue. It’s typical how violent misogyny is always dismissed in this manner. I mean when similar attacks are carried about somebody claiming religious motivation (specially Islamist) then it’s taken seriously but unless they’re super brown then it’s just *shrug* must be mental health issues. |

It's astonishing that, as plod, he thought he could get away with it. He must have realised with his knowledge of police procedures, he'd be fcuked. Or maybe he's one of those narcissistic pyschopaths who believe they're all powerful.

In that entire time I saw one fight between a couple drunks (and a lot of drinking goes on there). It’s typical how violent misogyny is always dismissed in this manner.
