Growing up in Bradfird and Leeds, I was less worried walking round London quite frankly, anyone who's seen The Selfish Giant film its set where I grew up with the kinds of people I grew up round.

What if you have to shovel hay off or on to your canal boat? I'd use a Manchester Ship Canal approved pitchfork then chain it back up on the towpath so no filthy scouser could nick it. This is funny. I've lived abroad most of my adult life - Europe, Middle-East and Australia. We have the well-travelled ootlg who lives in France, Andy in America, Voice in Canada... And we're discussing English regional stereotypes!

Shared point of reference perhaps

Yeah, maybe. To me though, taken out of the culture you were raised in - then looking back in from outside, the differences seem so petty.
Don't get me wrong. If you grew up in a shithole, I understand. Just up the road from me were places like Moss Side, Gorton and Levenshulme. You wouldn't want to live there but they don't define the region, or the people.

The same can be said of the oft repeated topic of the class system.
Take the boy out of Bradford*, but Bradford stays, kind of thing I suppose
*insert where ever you came from

Fair enough. The boy I took out of Bradford is down in the cellar, but I'll ask him what he thinks, next time the gimp mask comes off.

Oh piss. I've got to do gardening today. I detest gardening.

Me too. I try and pay people to do most of my gardening, and most of the rest that I do is destructive - chopping things down and pulling things out of the ground - but even that is joyless.
Me too on the detest thing. I don’t have to do any today. Today it’s snowing a horrible heavy wet snow that melted, refroze overnight, and is now snowing on top, so looks like it’s probably utterly treacherous outside. I hope to not have to go out of the house at all today.

We had a huge dump of snow yesterday, and cos we've not had snow much for a few years and I'm a but lazy and didn't drain the fule last time I used it or got it sorted a few weeks back the snow blower wouldn't start, so the shovel it was. I fcuking hate shoveling snow

I've been firing up the snowblower every month or so to make sure it's still working in prep for the first real fall. Last night's wasn't enough to snowblow and seems to have melted off the driveway of its own accord.

You're less lazy than me, though I did prep the generator and as the power was out due to the storm, that came in handy

Are they like leaf blowers? Much bigger and noisier. But also used less frequently and much more essential. You can always rake leaves.

You haven't shoveled snow if you think raking leaves is a bastard.
