Mistletoe was a corruption of "miss alto" for people who couldn't quite sing in a high enough pitch for their christmas carols and therefore missed the alto by a couple of notes and were horribly out of tune. The stick was to beat them hard enough in the balls to fix the problem.

2nd. December
OK...Favorite Christmas Films. Doesn't have to be about Christmas - just set around Christmas.
One of my favorite's is The Apartment with Jack Lemmon and Shirley MacLane. Great last line: "shut up and deal!"
There's been a break in at the Apple Store. Police are looking for iwitnesses.

The Apartment is a brilliant film. I saw Planes, Trains and Automobiles the other day. It doesn't rise to the level of brilliance but it's a very good, warm-hearted film.

That’s a Thanksgiving film. Mids. One of a very small number.
Best Christmas movies are: Trading Places and Die Hard.
Honourable mention to: The Ref, Muppet Christmas Carol
Among the very worst: The Holiday, Elf
