A new occasional thread for we weakening few to record our dimming passions and maybe our conversions or revisions.
So, to start, I have watched less than a minute of this year's Rugby Six Nations. It was on TV in a pub that I walked through.
I couldn't care less.

And yet, I have been for a vigorous walk in the heathland around Ditchling in the spring sunshine, cooked and enjoyed a hearty steak supper, supped a couple of pints and a few glasses of red wine, carried out some domestic tasks and administered a solid seeing-to in the manner of a red-blooded Christan husband.
Maybe being a bit bored by professional sportsmen is a blessing.

being a "red blooded Christian husband" I presume you used the missionary position.

I've gradually lost interest in sport over the years to the point where I rarely watch it. I couldn't tell you, without googling, where Hibs are in the table, who any of their players are or who they played last. I haven't seen any 6 nations games either. Didn't watch any of the Winter Olympics either. Dunno why, my interest just waned.

I'm much more interested in people and society, world events and the natural world really. Probably always was.

Being 'interested' in something is pretty superficial anyway - seems petty and small-minded - although the body language of others, while admittedly being 'interesting', sometimes strays into the realm of valuable information. Like humanity itself, I'm also finding music less appealing, much more mood dependent.

I was of course using Christian in its broader sense: a culturally Christian, civilised gentleman.

I'm just generally less motivated these days to get out and do stuff.

I've just spent Sunday afternoon at the Battersea Affordable Art Fair with me Lady Wife.

All of 'em!

As to the subject at hand, I find myself generally less enthusiastic about sport, particularly association football. I follow Oxford United basically by text updates now, and largely have no idea what happens in the higher divisions. I think the last time I watched any Premier League football was over 3 months ago.
And modern music, too. Which I think is meant to happen. I’m meant to become a grumpy old man who thinks all the stuff the kids like is just noise and where’s the melody these days… I go to massively fewer gigs these days, and on the rare occasions I do go it’s not to see an up-and-coming band I’ve vaguely heard about. Instead it’s more likely to watch a bunch of rock dinosaurs milking their back catalogue for the last few coins. Admittedly part of this is where I live, and part of this is not being able to convince the good lady wife to go and stand in a sweaty crowd for three hours for something that might be utter sh*t… But part is me and my dismissing enthusiasm.
I also enjoy drinking less. I rarely want more than three drinks in a night. I still like good booze, but once I’ve had my second cocktail or glass of burgundy or pint of hazy IPA, I’m generally done for the night. There’s no lack of enthusiasm for the taste of booze, but there’s lack of enthusiasm for the drunkenness (and even more lack of enthusiasm for the potential hangover).

I find I'm getting far less bothered about filtering my responses, if someone's talking obvious bollox I'm far less inclined to go along to get along these days.

Computer games. Used to love playing them, especially strategy ones. I still do occasionally but I lose interest pretty quickly. These days I'd rather read something.

Yeah, I think you lose interest in fictional stuff too.
