Walter Bruce Willis is retiring from acting due to a degenerative brain thing. Shame, he was always pretty good in whatever he was in. Mostly played "himself" but still. "Bruce Willis will step away from his acting career after being diagnosed with aphasia, a condition that impedes a person's ability to speak and write. The actor's family, including his wife Emma Heming-Willis and ex-wife Demi Moore, announced his condition on Instagram on Wednesday. Aphasia is "impacting his cognitive abilities", the statement said. Willis, 67, is best known for playing John McClane in the Die Hard films, which made him a star." www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-60934576

I like Bruce Willis - he's a real Film Star.
But it's funny how celebrity works.
This headline could be: "Man retires due to ill health."
I like the story of the TV continuity announcer how said: "next up the film The Sixth Sense starring Bruce Willis as a ghost."

Great film, The Sixth Sense. The director, Shyamalan, never seemed to get any better than that which was a shame; I was hoping for more similar stuff but he seemed to go off the rails.

I watched The Village against recently. It's not terrible but the big twist at the end is ludicrous.

Apparently Willis was making an absolute sh*t-ton of films over the last couple of years. IMDB has 8 for 2021 and 11 for 2022 releases. They all seem to be very average action-thriller things of a very Bruce Willis nature. I did wonder if he was doing a Nic Cage, but it appears that he might just have been making hay as much as he could before it got too hard.
I find it weird all these things saying that "Die Hard" made him a star. I always thought it was Moonlighting where he suddenly became absolutely massive.

Yeah, he was pretty big after Moonlighting, which was great although it did go downhill with shark jumpiness later on.

No, you didn't get it. In fact, even at the very end, you still didn't get it.

Die Hard is still one of the great action (and Christmas) movies.
