“Labor to form Australia's new government: Local networks” www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/world-australia-61532469Seems Mr. Albanese has “a reputation as a defender of Australia's free healthcare system, an advocate for the LGBT community, a republican, and a passionate rugby league fan”. On that basis, I suspect that a trade deal with the UK may not be at the top of his agenda, but hey.

Done and dusted last year. Oddly, I vaguely know someone who worked on it.

The Boris's Gold Standard (BGS) trade deal in question. "The UK has signed a free trade deal with Australia which it says will benefit consumers and businesses. It is described as the first post-Brexit deal negotiated from scratch and not "rolled over" from trade terms that the UK enjoyed while in the EU. The government estimated it would unlock £10.4bn of additional trade while ending tariffs on all UK exports." www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-59690080

I don't know a single farmer who's been wiped out.

Excellent. The right wing scum lost and British farmers were wiped out. Win-win.

Not that it matters with the Queen in charge anyway.

“Done and dusted”, mids, you wazzock?
The deal wIth the EU was done and dusted to the point of being “oven ready”, which the likes of you spouted then as yet another victory. Yet look where we are: Johnson and Truss about to declare UDI when it comes to a deal they probably didn’t even read, let alone understand. Do you not think the Fat Controller will hold the deal with Oz in the same contempt when he realises that what the UK farmers were telling him back then was true? ,

You, ignorantly, thought there was no trade deal with Australia. I, in the spirit of educating the thick, told you that there was.

The UK gets to export 8 jars of innovative jam; Oz gets to import 30billion tonnes of meat saturated with chemicals banned by the civilised world.

You, ignorantly, thought that I thought there was no trade deal with Australia. I, in the spirit of educating the gullible, told you that there probably isn't - and here's why ... Johnson is apt to throw his toys out the pram when he realises that the much-vaunted Oz deal is probably not going to deliver what he and Truss say. The NFU was (and remains) nervous about this deal, saying that there appears to be little in it for British farmers ... Link: www.nfuonline.com/media-centre/releases/the-nfu-has-responded-to-the-uk-and-australia-trade-deal/When this reality dawns on Johnson and his acolytes, then chances are he'll ditch this deal too. Why? Because he has form in doing so, sulking about a deal he either couldn't be bothered to read, or didn't have the nous to digest and understand (maybe both).

You know, if you didn't have such a bad case of long Brexit, you might have noticed that Britain and Australia have had a trade deal since last year and you might have avoided the humiliation of shoehorning your ignorance into a thread about something else entirely. That you started!
