The funny thing is reading his diatribe it’s quite clear he didn’t watch most of the ceremony. In fact he appears to have watched about a minute!

None of this is true:

Yes they showcased Brum’s diversity - it’s part of Brum after all. But there was loads about Birmingham’s rich history, the birthplace of the industrial revolution, it’s car industry (fashioned into a Union Jack) and loads about noted historical Brummie figures. Normally I never watch opening ceremonies but I am glad I did as it makes it obvious to me the Contrarian O’Neill did not watch it!

I almost wish that the Commonwealth Games committee exists purely for the purpose of trolling Brendan O'Neill, but then remembered that us in the center are more mature than that and our people actually try and behave reasonably. We, unlike the right, don't exist purely to troll and wail "triggered" at anything that might garner criticism, like the spoilt idiotic toddlers of the right.
