But they can be removed, which was entirely my point (as you knew). So can ours. See above. So if we don’t like Charles we can vote him out at the next election?

So if we don’t like Charles we can vote him out at the next election? In theory, yes.

Cool - when is this election and how does voting him out work? You vote for a party that has an explicitly republican manifesto.

1999. The usual way.

So if an explicitly republican party wins a majority of seats in Parliament, the monarchy will cease to exist as soon as those seats are declared?

There'd be a referendum, in the spirit of belt and braces.

So if an explicitly republican party wins a majority of seats in Parliament, the monarchy will cease to exist as soon as those seats are declared? Surely you know how Parliament works? Say that a Prol part stood on an explicitly clear manifesto commitment to ending the Monarchy. If they won, with a majority in the Commons and THE Lords.... They might even back that up with a plebiscite. Sound familiar?

So, again, there's no way to vote him out. Glad we're agreed on that then. There's no formal method for a transition.

No, as discussed votes could be carried out to do away with the monarchy.

Cool - when is this election and how does voting him out work? You vote for a party that has an explicitly republican manifesto. So when you said I could vote Charles out, you lied. Also who is talking about being a Republic? I am talking about voting out the current head of state the way I could my current MP. You lied when you said that’s possible.

You vote to remove the party. Also, there are many MPs, but one monarch (the clue's in the name).

Plebiscite: "the direct vote of all the members of an electorate on an important public question such as a change in the constitution." e.g. "the administration will hold a plebiscite for the approval of constitutional reforms"
Referendum: "a general vote by the electorate on a single political question which has been referred to them for a direct decision."
