I wouldn't change it, but it's not my job, not by business, not my material, not my copyright, so I don't get a say in it.

Sorry, obviously almost everyone is totally cool with the Dahl estate employing a couple of sensitivity readers to make sure their books seem fine to modern kids and therefore still get read.

But there are a handful of freaking out freak out snowflakes throwing freakout tantrums about CANCEL COUTURE! destroying everything that's good and right in the world. This is reported as an "OHMYGOD CANCELLING DAHL!" story on the mainstream US news channels because of it. They're working hard to make it a Big Thing.

I remember having to read Jungle Book in middle school, not the oginonal text but one where the language had been modernized to make it accessible to kids in the 70s, how is this any different?

It's not being substantially rewritten. And if it was being re-written, is it a problem? You can still buy the old editions just fine.

I remember reading, I think, The New World Bible in RE. And then the King James Bible. Both rewritings of the bible.
