I guess that's the trick with company health schemes: you're unlikely to need them. I suppose the premium is used on gyno-trivia, while the blokes don't bother, until later on, usually when they're no longer working for that sort of company or have been excluded from the company scheme.

Is there any opportunity to talk to people about to go through the same thing? No, but I would be happy to do that. The last time they jammed a Betamax up my jacksey, there was a young bloke in the next trap who asked for some advice. He was clearly frightened and I was really happy to help ease his mind. Enough about your schooldays, what about the medical procedure?

The worst thing about so called private health care, especially surgery, is a lot of the time it's the same surgeon doing private work out of hours using NHS hospitals and theatres, they'll go in at 6 in the morning blast off a few private surgeries then at 9 to 4 they do NHS followed by private clients till 7 or 8. While I'm sure they pay rent to use the space, it's still the NHS subsiding private care. The other side is the private hospitals do only the basic run of the mill stuff, if things start going south they get sent to the local NHS hospital, (again same Drs work both) Is that in the UK too? All the private specialists I have seen are in private hospitals. I do know emergencies end up going back to the NHS but as I understand it that’s just because most private hospitals don’t have A&E. Stands to reason as unlike elective treatments emergency services are hard to plan for. It's specifically the UK, it's why I said NHS, no where else calls it that No private health care in Canada

"All the private specialists I have seen are in private hospitals." Corporate humblebrag. You need help. (What does accessing healthcare have to do with “Corporate” - are you lost?) It was a response to Voice saying all private doctors work in NHS facilities. Not so. I never said that.

Fair enough but how often are private patients seen in NHS hospitals?
I have tried to look but it keeps referring to “NHS hospitals with private units” which isn’t the same thing.

To Fandy’s point doesn’t look like forcing everybody to queue for the government provided healthcare (instead of allowing some to opt out) seems to help much: finance.yahoo.com/news/fraser-institute-news-release-canada-100000472.html#:~:text=The%20study%2C%20an%20annual%20survey,Institute%20began%20tracking%20wait%20times. “VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Dec. 07, 2023 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Canadian patients waited longer than ever this year for medical treatment, finds a new study released today by the Fraser Institute, an independent, non-partisan Canadian public policy think-tank. The study, an annual survey of physicians across Canada, reports a median wait time of 27.7 weeks—the longest ever recorded, longer than the wait of 27.4 weeks reported in 2022—and 198 per cent higher than the 9.3 weeks Canadians waited in 1993, when the Fraser Institute began tracking wait times.”

“King Charles' distant cousin is wanted by police after being convicted of racist and homophobic abuse in a McDonald's and threatening to stab a homeless support worker” “Distant” King Charles probably does not know he exists.

Sounds like a complete waste of space.
Just lock him up and leave him there:
“Lascelles, the great-great grandson of King George V, has 15 previous convictions for 21 offences. He is the son of James Lascelles, a musician who set up a commune in Suffolk in the 1970s.”

He's about 60th in line for the throne, which is pretty close to the top.

The Queen could marry him if Charles dies.

What’s Julian Clary got to do with this?
Oh sorry - you mean Ludmilla, yes?

Sounds like he has mental health issues. I wonder if his behaviour is really worth reporting, TBH.

They've also got some very strong ties to some very rich people who use them to campaign for no tax and so on and would like nothing better than to turn public services such as health care into profit driven enterprises such as in the US, who's almost entirely private system generates huge profits while costing the country double in terms of GDP than Canada while serving far fewer on the population
