Noiser had a good podcast on D Day that was worth listening to. I really enjoyed that one. Just started 'The Rest in History' quite enjoyable, a couple of history proffs (very posh) just chatting about history, while its very angiocentric its good listening.

I probably should listen to The Rest Is History. But I've still not managed to catch up on all the episodes of Empire. I'm about 105 in and am still 70 odd from even catching up on that. I probably need to get myself a job with a 2 hour driving commute each day just so I can listen to all the stuff I need to.

Yeah, driving 40 mins to work then driving all over all day certainly helps. Not sure I'd listen to a podcast at home sat on the couch.

The only spodcast I listen to is A History of Rock Music in 500 Songs. Otherwise I listen to YouTube channels in the car or sometimes at home like spodcasts. Dan Davies History (mostly ancient), Mark Felton (mostly WW2) are very good. Auto Shenanigans and Ashley Neal are both good. Surprisingly so since their subject matter (roads and driving) normally bores the arse off me. You really have to watch both of those to properly appreciate them though. Map Men too.

My only query would be that she's from Tennessee, so why is the neighbouring state honouring her.

Also, I should add that she is absolutely fantastic, and appears to be one of the best people on the planet.

My dad was a Kentucky Colonel. My cousin, from Kentucky, somehow organised it because she knew the Governor. I've got the certificate somewhere.
Although it might have been an honorary version. I'll have to check.

What the hell did he do to get that award? Did he also give hundreds of millions of books to kids? Write a song as good as Here You Come Again?
Even in America it can't just be nepotism. They have to at least have the flannel of pretending there's something to it.

Got to say I've been really enjoying the rest is history, its very light hearted at times, just today they had one of Persia and how everything comes from Persia or was improved by Persia. Great fun.
On my list next will be 'We have Ways of making You Talk' sounds very good.

Try "The Invention of ... " series on BBC Sounds. Very enjoyable insights into the creation of various countries.

Evil Genius with Russell Kane Actually quite amusing and interesting. It's a panel show where a group of comedians dissect the reputation of various iconic people: from Ghandi to Bernard Manning. It's amusing enough material on a dogwalk, and usually the PC-signalling isn't too cringe-making. This episode, though ..... www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p094jvhh?partner=uk.co.bbc&origin=share-mobile
