Dunno, but it was apparently the students who said the jewellery couldn't be removed. Anyway, it's just a power play. Humiliate the young students. Bringing along the bolt croppers, ha! "I've only got these tiny snips, but I could use my massive penis croppers if I wanted to". What a tosspot.
Yes it was a bit of a rhetorical question but I am very intrigued by the type of earrings they had that could not be removed.

Oh well - small mercies; it might've been worse.
Imagine if any of these students had had a vajazzle.

I was just wandering back from TGIF drinks at my folks' when I fell in with a neighbour who is a lecturer at a local college. He told me that one of his students has just been nicked for stabbing a bloke in a drug dispute. The said that this bloke had threatened him in the past, so it was no great surprise. "Of course, two of his cousins went to Syria and were killed....".
Ah, that crowd. My mate teaches Law.

"Museum of Old and New Art"? Isn't that just the "Museum of Art"?

Anyway, not sure museums are particularly the spaces that need protecting for women. But it's an ingenious and funny solution if you did think it was a problem.

If chicks want a museum just for them, I'm fine with it.

Me too. So long as it doesn't come out of taxpayer funding. Not that I especially care as I don't pay tazzy taxes, but in principle.

This is funny: “ And only on Sundays, men would be allowed into the space - to learn ironing and laundry folding. "Women can bring in all their clean laundry and the men can go through a series of graceful movements (designed by a Rinpoche and refined by tai chi masters) to fold them," she said, in an interview published by the museum, external on Tuesday.” But seriously given men only clubs exist in Australia I am not sure what the justification would be to prohibit this women’s only space.

Public-funded men-only clubs? en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Museum_of_Old_and_New_Art“ The Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) is an art museum located within the Moorilla winery on the Berriedale peninsula in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. It is the largest privately funded museum in the Southern Hemisphere.[2”

Ah! That's fair enough. I didn't get that impression from what I had read.
Funny to see it described as "reverse misogyny". Seems a bit petty and childish.

Ironically, I remember being told that a Tassie is Australian slang for ladyparts because its shape on a map roughly matches the shape on a woman who takes a more traditional approach to her personal topiary.
