We all like to travel to some extent, don't we?
Any bucket list destinations? Some places I've been thinking of: Iceland, the Serengeti, Estonia, Croatia, and Sicily. Impressions from anyone who's been there?

Sicily is very well-regarded. I haven't been there for many, many years, but I really liked it.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with visiting the popular tourist destinations. They are popular for a reason. I would quite like to do a tour of the most popular cities in the World. Two or three days in each, on my own mainly, on foot, just wandering about. That's what I enjoy.

The place I'd really like to go is the high Andes, also id love to drive the length of Chilli top to bottom

Agree and that's what I did when I went to Europe, just walk around all over a city. Prague and Florence especially spring to mind.

Impressions from anyone who's been there? I always used to have a list of “5 Places I really want to visit” and cross them off as I did it. Currently my shortlist is: 1) Cambodia and Vietnam (I want to do them in one trip) 2) Japan 3) Iceland 4) Botswana 5) Churchill Manitoba, Canada to see polar bears on ice floes. I have never been to any of the places you have mentioned so cannot comment.

Got friends in Costa Rica right now, and it looks spectacular from their pics. But also humid and hot and full of bugs, so might not sit well with me.
Chile, the Andes, the Atacama, Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego are all pretty much on the bucket list.
Have an insane amount of travel this year. In addition to my three trips to blighty around Christmas, and possibly another in September. I'm in Charleston (SC) right now - although it's raining over the weekend so we might head home early. Then in two weeks the missus has got us another freebie on the Superyacht, this time in St Barts (it's so f**k**g tacky, but great fun - and they fly us out on the private jet). Then in May we're off first to Vegas and then into the Utah desert, and down to Sedona. July is Napa, and also Paris for the Olympics. August is Carmel/Monterey. November is Bermuda. And December/Jan it's a long trip to New Zealand.
The missus decided that as she turns 50 this year she wants to absolutely go nuts on it and blow all our reserves on having a bunch of travel fun. The nice thing is that three of these are basically for her job.

Going to hop down the West Coast later in the year Seattle, Astoria, SF, LA, SD, ending up in Baha.
See America while its still there, might be a place to avoid after Jan next year if things go as looks likely

Out of your way, but Utah is one of the most scenic states there is.

Will be going to Japan in June, possibly Florida in the fall to visit my brother. Planning to take the family to Europe next year.
A paltry list in comparison with Andy's myriad, massive carbon-footprint ventures.

Utah's not completely dry. You can buy all the booze you want in the right shops. Even the supermarkets sell beer, although it's lowish alcohol (under 4%). There are some weird rules about how much booze you can have on your table in restaurants, but they just leave it to the side and bring it over.
It's also become quite a bit more relaxed over recent years because lots of non-Mormons have been moving to greater SLC as there are jobs there and it's a nice place to live with mountains and desert and sun.
It probably is the prettiest of all the states.
