No, I think it was Southfork or something like that.

I don’t think so. He’s been in the job a long time and probably wanted to hand over anyway, and most people think he’s done a great job but taken the team as far as he can. He’s not been sacked or hounded out. It was just time.

Yeah, he'll be sobbing all the way to the bank, via Buckingham Palace.

I see Starmer's Kiss of Death has already killed our hopes of at least one sitting-down medal: www.bbc.co.uk/sport/equestrian/articles/c97d4vnxv45o"Charlotte Dujardin, Britain's joint-most decorated female Olympian, has pulled out of Paris 2024 after a video emerged showing her "making an error of judgement". The six-time dressage medallist said she was under investigation from the International Federation for Equestrian Sports (FEI) and would "withdraw from all competition while this process takes place". The 39-year-old also said she was under investigation from the British Equestrian Federation and British Dressage. "What happened was completely out of character and does not reflect how I train my horses or coach my pupils, however there is no excuse," she said in statement. "I am deeply ashamed and should have set a better example in that moment."

Only insofar as we don't know the details of what Dujardin is alleged to have done (presumably to a horse).
Right now my mind is exploring the gamut of possibilities from feeding it non-organic sugar cubes all the way through to a trip to the glue factory as punishment.

It sounds like she engaged in kinetic correction that made the horse bleed.
My SiL is a big wheel in that sport. Each to their own. Her main horse is a killer. Sixty-odd grands' worth of homicidal dogfood.

A big wheel in equestrianism? What, like Ben Hur 'n' that?

It’s funny how the BBC were doing massive puff-pieces about posh-sitting “sport” Dujardin just a few days ago. Dressage is the shittest sport of the lot, I think. Duller to watch than long distance swimming.

VAR is a disaster. So, of course, are rioting fans, but most of the anger would have been avoided if the linesman just made his decision normally.

VAR does have its place, but so often it's used for nit picking decisions, off-side by a finger or similar nonsense. Might be better if it like in Rugby where you can hear the ref and the VAR talking.

Teetering further. Should have put Boris in charge. "France “is under attack” after its high-speed national rail network was “paralysed” by sabotage attacks in an apparent bid to disrupt this evening’s opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics. In “coordinated” attacks, signals along the tracks were set on fire and cables cut and set alight, sources close to the investigation said. Jean-Pierre Faranadou, head national rail operator SNCF, said: “Today, it’s the major (holiday) departures that are under attack...it’s the French who are under attack” as he called the plans of thousands to visit the Games “ruined”." www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2024/07/26/france-trains-sabotage-olympics/

My tour guide in Paris last month was saying he, like a lot of other French people is now hoping for the Olympics to be a failure because of what a sh*t show the run up has been for Parisians.
I wonder if it was him.
