I will be happy enough if it's just an entertaining game. The last few I have watched have been tedious, and could just as easily been concluded in half an hour.

England's performances in this tournament suggest that might be wishful thinking.

On paper, England are the stronger side tonight, but on the pitch? Hmmm ...
If they do make it through and face Spain on Sunday, then I'll go with Spain, not least because I've drawn them in our sweepstake at work.

Who ever plodds through tonight's game will be thrashed by Spain on Sunday.
Even if England do get through, I doubt their strategy of boring the opposition to sleep will work on Spain.

Well, that might force England to play a bit.

Blimey. This is half hour has had more in it than the last 480 minutes of England’s other matches.

Why has Southgate changed formation. What is going in in the second half?

Why has Southgate changed formation. What is going in in the second half? I think the Dutch changed formation. Also, although having a left footed left-back helps with crosses, Trippier was better getting forward. Mostly, though, England reverted a bit to type and became more patient leaving too much time and space for their opponents. f**k**g great winning goal, though.

England Vs West Indies - day one first Test. West Indies all out for 121. England 189 for 3 at close of play.
New boy Atkinson 7 wickets for 45 - on his first Test.
and a great game of Football.
