Apache by The Shadows. Bought it for my Mum for her birthday - or so I said, but in reality I desperately wanted it but couldn't afford it, so when Dad gave me money to buy Mum something........  And yes, we still have it! |

My first 45 rpm single was bought with pocket money, it was called My Sweet Lord by George Harrison. I wasn't religious then and i'm not particularly now, i just loved the record. Whenever i hear it now, i think back to the days when i bought the single in WH Smiths all those years ago!

I was lucky in that I had an older brother and sister so I just listened to all their records.
The first single I ever bought with my own money was Witch's Promise by Jethro Tull........ Loved it !

Mull of Kintyre Oh mist rolling in from the sea, My desire is always to be here Oh Mull of Kintyre Classic track!! I would have bought as my first single January by Pilot but I was too young then and didn't realise that you could actually buy it on record then....that was what.... back in 1977 1st PROPER single I bought was Going Underground by The Jam but loved the B side Dreams of Children better tho..... |
