We have Vista at home and Windows XP on other pcs, Windows XP causes far less problems. Vista is still quite new though and having teething problems. Apparently it's possible to have both running on the same pc?! Not sure how though!

Whatever you do don't turn the screen magnifier on in Vista. You'll have a hell of a job turning it off again! Stick with XP Pro

No problems here (or nothing more than normal windows issues).
However, don't bother if you are just upgrading the OS. With old hardware stick to XP with new go for vista.
Libby, it's called dual boot - same hardware but effectively different machines. You can run both at the same time. Various ways to achieve this.
