So I'm a krona better off if I stick with the pound?
You have no idea how much I want to throw all this to the dogs and run away to join a circus. Or become a barmaid.

At the present moment you are Vike yes, although the suspicion is that the pound will start to tank. It has already lost a good 25% of it's value since its peak last year but then again, it was strongly over-valued at the time (As was the entire UK economy) so it may not be utterly worthless and of course, the euro may also lose value.

No you're not a kronor better off .Not if you also take into account the numbers behind the decimal points which I dont think Minge did .Its exactly the same .The point is however that it aint going to stay exactly the same .Tomorrow you'll be getting even less kronor for a quid. What you should be doing is asking to get paid in euro .A euro rate .Not asking to be paid in sterling that gets converted into kronor or euro . Barmaiding is a good idea however .

Vox has destroyed my thread with her child-like understanding of the fluctuating currency markets I keep wondering what someone who has so little idea of currencies and finance is doing being self employed

Thing about the euro is that most of the countries involved still have some sort of self-sufficient manufacturing base. GB has zilch, bar meat and wood products. The rot set in back in the Sixties when the unions played up and refused to modernise, then Thatcher finished it off by effectively asset-stripping the country which set it on a service based boom and bust course supported by all subsequent governments who couldn't see the wood for the trees. Now we're all seeing the results.

Wishing she wasn't, mostly. LMAO .A feeling I can very much empathise with .Cept at the moment I'm glad I am self employed and not reliant on someone else running the finances of a firm to keep me in a job

Hmm well I am both self-employed, with all the horrendous unfathomable paperwork and hassle that involves, and reliant on other running a company properly to keep me in a job.

Another thing about the euro ,ootlg is that its a number of countries .Some see that as a disadvantage cos they see the stronger being pulled down by the weaker but it works both ways .

Its not right blaming any government . Theyve both enabled a lot of people to get a load of wealth when there wasnt the employment to keep the country going and the reasons there wasnt the employment was because the population demanded too much

I could see that with foresight, I just had no choice. In fairness, I was given a three month see how it goes trial and that was nearly three years ago, so the last two and a half years have been a bonus. If it goes bosoms up tomorrow I can't really complain.
