It has been quoted somewhere that it cost the Policeforce around £1M but she would have had that from all the benefits she would have received. She would have pushed a few more Shannons out in those 8 years if she had been free so we can look upon her time in prison as contraception. Hopefully by the time she gets out she will be going through an early menopause.

Also yesterday ( friday ) a man was jailed for 2 years for driving by accidnt his truck with his 4 kids inside into a river. All 4 kids died.
Sooo.
4 years inside for kidnap.and 2 years inside for reckless driving and drowning 4 small children.

She shud have got a lot longer sentence! Sometimes our legal system sucks....... well most of the time nowadays!
The only good things to come out of this is that ALL her children are being brought up without there mothers input, they now maybe have a better chance of growing in2 responsible adults! As for what her and that creep did, well i hope they get there comuppance in prison, where im sure they will hurrah! co they have caused that poor child years or painful memories!

A total scumbag and one of the dumbest scumbags to think £50.000 was worth getting splashed all over the media and even worse thinking she could get away with it. What angers me more was there were 4 phone calls made to the Madalin appeal foundation DEMANDING money to help in the search for shannon. I would love to see who ever made those calls banged up either in jail or physically as that is scraping the moral barrels.

Small consolation but Karen Matthews won't have an easy time in prison living in fear of other prisoners. Also she will never be accepted by her family again, or be able to return to her home! Her sentence is an outrage. That poor daughter of hers will perhaps never recover from her ordeal, that in itself is worth a life sentence for her "mother" - i use the term loosely!
