Two pre-school children and an adult have been killed and 13 other people wounded in a knife attack at a creche in north-western Belgium. A man who had painted his face black and white reportedly tricked his way into the nursery in Dendermonde, where he ran amok before escaping. A suspect was arrested at a nearby shop and will appear in court later. Parents have been asked to identify their children from photographs taken at local hospitals. news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/7846815.stmHow horrifying.

Police say he may have been planning attacks on three other nurseries
They have arrested a 20-year old .... it's mind-boggling how anyone could even think of doing such a thing

It makes my blood run cold, poor little mites! Apparently the man who carried out this atrocity was influenced by the Batman character played by the late Heath Ledger. The actor's face was painted the same way with a white face and black eyes. This guy is one sick individual, hope he gets his just desserts!

Strait death penalty, or someone should do him in prison. Reminds me of the Dunblane masacre in scotland, had the same effect on me as 9/11 ,, could,nt believe some one could stand there and blow away dozens of 5 year old kids and in Scotland of all places. Remember the paramedic who was first on the site said he had to hold himself back from mutilating Hamilton when he realised what had happened, poor guy must have nightmares of seeing those kids.

On second thoughts perhaps the death penalty would be the easy option! Perhaps a life sentence with other lifers might be a better punishment, living in fear - that would be worse!

The fitting punishment is that the guilty party should be left in a room with his victims family who can do what they want to them.. Satisfaction all round

The death penalty would be too quick and painless, this devil deserves to suffer. I don't like violence and i don't condone it, but sometimes there are exceptions especially where children being killed/hurt are concerned. Then i have no sympathy at all.

A few years ago I used to care for little ones from 3 years old in an afterschool club, and it was always something at the back of my mind that this could happen.
I had to plea with the school to improve security, and eventually got a police friend to call on them and insist on better safety. It's one hell of a responsibility, and worry, when you have so many (up to 50 at times) little ones in your care.
I feel heart-sick for all in this horrific attack.
