so to get this straight an un-named source quoted on a blog says Obama has left an out to use torture, excuse me if I say this sounds like typicle neocon bullshit and rearguard bollox to me

I think the "out" is the fact that in a battle a field commander can supercede the army field manual and order more coercive methods to be employed if he believes there is information to be gained that will save the lives of his men. Which is as it should be.
