news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7818980.stmAn atheist campaign claiming "There's probably no God" has been reported to the advertising regulator. Posters with the slogan appear on 800 buses in England, Scotland and Wales, as well as on the London Underground. But organisation Christian Voice has complained to the Advertising Standards Authority saying they break rules on substantiation and truthfulness. The British Humanist Association, which backed the campaign, said it was not taking the complaint seriously. There is plenty of evidence for God, from people's personal experience, to the complexity, interdependence, beauty and design of the natural world Stephen Green Christian Voice The ASA's code states "marketers must hold documentary evidence to prove all claims". The regulator said it would assess the complaint and decide whether to contact the advertiser. 'Peals of laughter' The adverts contain the slogan: "There's probably no God. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life." But Stephen Green, national director of Christian Voice, said: "There is plenty of evidence for God, from people's personal experience, to the complexity, interdependence, beauty and design of the natural world. Poor, deluded fool.................... ;D

i guess if you can have 'Jesus Saves' or 'God is Good' on the side of a bus, you might just as well have 'there is probably no god'
Dont really see the point of sticking those sort of messages on buses - i prefer to have ads for the latest films etc

"Probably" means that the issuer of the advertisment isn't sure himself,- therefore not an athiest. Poor deluded fool :-)

If it had said "There is no God" The Atheist Alliance would have to prove it.
As it is, if the idiot Stephen Green keeps this up, they could rightly turn round and demand quantifiable proof that God exists. ;D

Another case of political correctness gone ape i think. Whatever happened to the view that everyone is entitled to their own opinion. It seems we all have to think one way and that's it. There is no consistency any more - one minute it's ok to believe in something, and then the next minute it isn't ok to believe! Ridiculous!
I agree Foxy, i prefer standard adverts on buses etc., and not opinions and statements too!

The message sent by the self-proclaimed athiest has only raised questions of his own beliefs, due mainly to the fact that he is a self-proclaimed doubter with regards to the point of 'is there in fact the existence of God', because of his use of the word, 'probably'. :-)

Just wait until David Icke's lot put banners on buses saying "The Queen, Prince Philip, the Bush family, the Clintons and Boxcar Willie are all shape-shifting lizards whose ancestors have ruled the world for 5,000 years." ;D

"shape-shifting lizards "
Even without the obligatory 'probably' this is probably not going to fit onto the side of a bus in a big enough font to be readable.
