Jonathon Ross is alright, this is just a pathetic attempt at whipping the proles into a righteous frenzy by teh fcuking deplorable Sun.
20th Anniversary of Hillsborough by the way just gone, where The Sun showered themselves in abject, bigotted, miserable and vile lies.
Fcuking Sun.

SUCH BALLS!!! Mountain mole hill, censorship sh*t. The news papers heading up anything possibly dodgy Ross can say, and blowing it up massively. Were her details published? was her name mentioned? This is banter between two guys on the radio, for banter sake. Amusing banter whether you think so or not, i would have laughed at that on the radio. It wasnt personal, the fact his co presnter does have a villa...(does he?) Does he have an 80 year old neighbour at his villa? We dont know, but the guy coming out defending his mothers name (which wasnt even mentioned) has just made this personal. It was his actions that have made this personal when before it was just banter. Im sorry the 80 year old has a son, but does Ross know that? Does he care? does it actually matter that he cares? She was no one, she could have been a figment of Ross's co presenters imagination! How is ross to know?

They should just sack the c**t. I'm sick of him and this whole affair. He's got plenty of money and will get another job easily enough. They could give some talented youngster a break into the big time on a 20th of his salary.

Ross and Brand are untalented cnuts who I'd be happy to never hear again, but seriously, are we really going to get upset and pious about everything? Will the idiot mob be on the case of any broadcaster who does or says anything vaguely rude, outrageous, controversial, interesting - because it might offend someone? Christ. Get a grip, pathetic country. Thumbs up-ticon

Oh. And the BBC should never pay anyone £1m salaries. Because if someone is so commercially competent to warrant £1m salaries, they can get a job on a commercial channel.

Get a grip, pathetic country. But that is it. They are not vaguely rude, outrageous, controversial, or interesting. What they have done is launch attacks on specific individuals or people who can be readily identified, and who cannot answer back. If he ever did anything like this to my grandparents I would break his kneecaps to show him what real fun is. We could then laugh at the follow up show of him on crutches trying to explain how funny everyone thinks he is.

I watched Woss on Fwiday to see Tom Cwuise and Stephen Fwy. The bit about farting backfired on Ross because Tom refused to join in and behaved with dignity. Stephen Fry called out no to the question. I liked the way he said something about helping him off the naughty step. Ross didn't stand a chance at ridiculing Stephen Fry.
I definitely think Ross is overpaid. I can't think why the BBC chose to squander our licence fee in this way. I don't think a replacement has to be young. Talent is what counts. Somebody like Steve Wright would be good for instance.
Good presenters are hard to find. David Tennant would be brilliant, but I doubt very much if he would want to be a presenter. Why not have a woman? Suggestions anyone?

I saw friday too and the prank didnt back fire, its was Ross's prank to try and get Tom Cruise to admit to farting and what he does with it. Childish but at the same time british audiences like to see their stars and famous folk act with dignity and humility. Tom Cruise has no humilty so he acted with dignity, and it was Ross who actually diverted the attention from Cruise (saving him in the spotlight) and onto Evans and Fry who he knew would get a better answer or a less dignified answer because he is very good mates with Fry and Evans. What Ross did on Fri ion that situ was a perfect example of Excellent broadcasting and asking questions but with out making a situation uncomfoprtable. Ross is by far an a way one of the best presenters on our tv and radio. His andrew Sachs gag back fired, we all make mistakes and some people dont find him funny, but i think the guy is one of the best if not the best man on tv to get people talking about themselves. He is the next generation of Parky just with a little bit more boyhood in him, silliness and immaturity Which i for one prefere.

There was something I read recently that inferred Ross have a lot of relatives who work in the Beeb, and that's why they cossett him and won't sack him. How true that was I don't know, I think it was on a website I was browsing, but can't remember where. It figures though!
It was mentioned here by Tarrant that he had family at the Beeb

I used to like his Friday night programme, but i can't stand him now. I genuinely think at the beginning of the Sachs' granddaughter scandal that he and Russell Brand were only larking about. Had they shown remorse then, the situation wouldn't have escalated to the level it did. Then to make matters even worse Jonothan Ross came back to the BBC after a 12-week ban cracking gags about the whole mess!
I think the time has come for him to hang up his mike and quit the BBC and perhaps tv altogether. We should boycott all his programmes and then when they slump in the ratings, hopefully they will take him off air!

cracking gagas about the whole thing is a way of getting over it and moving on. I never heard his gags but i bet they an essence of humility in them because thats Ross's style.

Well i may get shot down here, but i actually like him! ok he acts a pratt at times, but he can be funny, and i like to see some shows where its not all 'PC' and everyone has to watch his P's n Q's! The thing is ppl know what he is like, and if they dont like his style, there are numerous other channels to turn over to! thats why we have the option of other channels, simple really. One thing i 100% dont agre with his his wage, thats disgusting (i cud use it and spend it far more wiser im sure lol)

I agree with Vonnie. If you don't like it, turn over. Its not that difficult, is it?

The spotlight shone by Ross in the first place? What does Ross hope to achieve with such questions? Apart from cheap embarrassed sniggers....

he hopes to achieve a wee piece of humanity in these so called mega Stars. These Stars that seem huge, they seem like different people to the everyday lay person, (not to everyone but definitely to some folk) and so he wants to bring them down to earth and see if they can mingle with the silly nonsense that we all talk about..for cheap embarrassed laughs. The immaturity that Ross shows from time to time is what i like about that guy.

I happily talk about it for nothing. So why should Tom Cruise be able to getaway with not talking about it? heh heh. Its part and parcel of good broadcasting, Parky did it brilliantly with his guests, getting them to open up and speak about personal matters, which helped the audience connect with his guest. Ross can do this too. If you have ever seen his more serious interviews on different programmes he's great at getting people to offer a bit of personality to their image portrayed in the media. Admittedly Ross enjoys the more immature side or showing a bit of personality, but thats why ive always had a like for Ross, because toilet humour is great. Time and a place...but when its his comedy talk show...that is the time and the place.

If he just stuck to the schoolboy humour, his way of presenting can be quite amusing. Trouble is he's blotted his copybook by making it too personal. Who knows if in time his hassles will abate and he can get back to being humorous. I agree with the comment about his lack of PC interviewing technique, he certainly doesn't play by the rules! lol! At the moment i am just sick of hearing about him.
