I heard on the News today that if the RAF do shoot missiles at any UFO's, the public would not be told! Does that mean they have already then cos we haven't been told lol?!

"We know of cases where the order has been given to shoot down - with little effect to the UFO." I find that comment from the article rather worrying!

If there are UFO's, it seems logical to assume they are more advanced than we are, in which case, they would probably have better defence/attack systems.
Best try and make friends with them.

That's OK Libby, my confusion stems not from you being Blond or femail. It's from my male brain being unable to cope with the copious amounts of red wine poured (forcefully) down my neck !

lol Beachy! Watch out for those little green men you will be seeing soon in your red wine stupor! Whenever i think of UFO's, i always think that they will be far more advanced than us and far more capable of attack - we are probably under surveillance as i type - scarey thought though!

They could well be better equiped to attack, but to assume they are? ??

Echoing Scooby in #6, any UFOs originating from outer space would be so far advanced from us that attacking them would probably be percieved as rather cute.
But I tend to think the order is related to aircraft that are unidentifable. Presumably some intelegence source has reported that terrorists have an arsenal of airplanes which they intend to use as flying bombs.
Hopefully a more reliable intelegence source that pursuaded the UK/ USA to invade Iraq and Afghanistan

So tarrant and Scooby, i agree they would be so more advanced than us from outer space. How do you think we could protect ourselves from them?! or could we?!

Protect ourselves ? ....... what makes you think we would have to do that ? - You've watched far too many 'B' movies.
When we send a probe out into the far blue yonder we do it with a message of peace. However, Hollywood has conditioned us to expect any extraterrestrial communication will mean a declaration of war !
We seem to imbue any alien race with human characteristics - If it's different - KILL IT !

That is so true BC. Libby. Treat them wit caution, just as you should a stranger you meet on a train or in a pub. Not everybody is a bogeyman, but the odd one is.

Beachy, you are soooooooooooooo right! We have all been conditioned by movies. There is no justifiable reason that "aliens" (do i call them aliens, doesn't sound very friendly does it?!) are unfriendly. I will reserve my judgement and greet them politely from behind the sofa . . . . eeek! Any male volunteers offering to stand in front of me plllllleeeease! lol!

I'd welcome visitors from outer space, they couldn't be any more destructive to our planet than earthlings, and they might just teach us a few things.

Can't see why aliens would be interested in our planes other than as a source of water.
Anything so advanced that it could travel those sorts of distances would precieve the inhabitants as very primitive.
