What if my lifestyle choice is pointing and laughing hysterically at fat people? It's your choice to be a jerk.

hasn't any connection been made to the amount of growth and other hormones added to food...... has it not been shown, that in the 'west' more and more young girls are reaching puberty earlier is perhaps an example obesity is caught - as the overweight catch another portion.... hypothyroidism is a 'real' issue though and whilst it won't make you fat, you have to be even more careful....

I have to agree with you VHW.
I'm taking issue with these endless and increasingly silly psuedo medical claims.

I think there are sometimes good reasons why people put on weight (for instance being on certain medication) but the bottom line is if you want to lose it you need a bit of discipline. Put down the fork, step away from the plate, get your arse off the sofa. Basically it may not be your fault you porked out in the first place, but it's your fault if you don't lose it.

No.
The bottom line is why should they be bullied into losing weight?
Some people find the sight of women wandering around with various boyfriends, wearing revealing cloths ect. ect.....
Bottom line is if these women wanted to be a bunch of frumps all they need is a bit of dicipline.
Lifestyle choice!!!!!!

Now that is an excellent idea.
While we're at it we can impose a surcharge on sports enthuiasts.
And Mountain climbers.
Pregnant women. (Self inflicted if ever there was one)
Smokers.
Drinkers.
Drug users.
Football supporters.
People with sexually transmitted diseases
Fat Andy!! .........

Smokers and drinkers already pay their surcharge, but otherwise I'm with you.

Joliet: Theres being fat and there is being obese. Obese people eat because they dont like themselves or dont like something about their lives in general, piling on the pounds to just increase your body a few sizes is not the same thing as obesity.

That's a bit Dr Phil. My dad and his wife are obese, he becasuse he eats portions the size of Denmark, she because she doesn't actually move ever. I don't think they have self-esteem issues, although they probably should have.

What is this sudden obsession with lifestyle choice? Why is it so important that everyone gets to choose? Do people choose to be fat? Do you get really skinny people who see John Prescott on TV and think, "Hey! I want to be a hideous porker just like him! Double bacon cheeseburger and fries please!"
No, they got fat by eating too much and not moving enough. Then it's easier to just carry on ballooning rather than nailing the fridge door shut and walking to work.

I do think there's waaaaaaaay too much emphasis on "accepting" fatness and "being beautiful inside". People have actually started to believe it and stopped bothering to try and lose weight. Not a good thing. When I rule the world all these fat shops that are currently called things like "Chic" and "Plus size" and "big and beautiful" are going to be renamed Fat Shop. People shopping in them need to be reminded there's nothing normal about doing that.

I think this is a bit simplistic/forgiving? In my case I am probably a bit overweight at the moment but could easily get obese because I am lazy and really like eating chocolate puddings and whisky and things generally not associated with slimming plans.

A lot of fatties that way because they are lazy and spend far too much time sitting in front of a computer monitor and communicating with imaginary friends.

www.dailyexpress.co.uk/posts/view/81810I especially like this part from the linked article... Research suggests a third of UK adults will be grossly overweight within three years, with Britain even predicted to overtake the US as the most obese nation in the world.AAhahaha keep laughing , fatasses , but remember , he who laughs last, laughs best !

It is easy to drop body fat. Just eat vegetables and a small portion of lean protein for each meal, (fish, chicken, lean pork or lean beef, that means all visible fat is removed). But I mean that literally, vegetables, and protein only! And prefereably fiberous vegetables over starchy vegetables. No bread, no rice, no sugar, stay away from white food.
Eat like that and you'll drop 20lbs a month minimum.
That said, french fries (chips to you limey's) is not a vegetable!
Which leads to my next point, people are fat, because they want the tasty food more than they want to be fit.
