No pregnant woman can ever be right about anything. In fact, forget the adjective. On the otherhand, FA's book recommendations are always shonky, based on a scientific (Daily Mail style) sampling of the one book I'm aware of us both having read. So there.

There is a basic rule in life that mothers are always right unless they're wrong.
If a pregnant woman fancies sucking a piece of coal, then so be it.
If a mother of a baby thinks there is something wrong then she is probably right.
Humans have been around a long time. For 250,000 years, we've been the most superior lifeforms. We got this far because of mothers. Like it or not.

Booze and babies... mmm lots of research most of it's bollocks.
There is something called foetal alchohol syndrome that is damaged caused to babies in the womb by drinking - lots of drinking. There are apparently lots of other possible side effects or maybe none at all. Mostly mental issues, good old autism of course etc etc. No proven link or dangerous amount for any of these cases though.
Probably best to avoid drinking if pregnant but the odd glass of wine isn't going to do that much damage.
In the 60's and 70's women smoked and drank through pregnancy and we are not all damaged.
