UFOs have been spotted by hundreds of witnesses close to the wind turbine feared destroyed by an "alien" craft. One of the 290ft generator's 65ft blades was ripped off. Experts are struggling to determine exactly what caused the incident in Conisholme, Lincolnshire UK, and what was behind the flood of reported sightings. There are many theories around at present, amongst them a mechanical fault. This is considered unlikely as one blade smashed off and another warped. Also freezing weather, although this theory does not explain all the light sightings that have been seen. Another theory is vandalism, but almost 300ft up?! Locals say fireworks were going off, but this wouldn't account for the specific sightings and consistencies with coloured lights that did not resemble any firework. Yet another theory about Russian Spies with the possibility of a plane striking the turbine?! The MOD are looking into this. The possibility of a low flying aircraft similar to a stealth jet is also being investigated. Finally the possibility of a UFO is also being discussed. What are everyone's theories on this strange happening?! Do you believe in UFO's?!

I am absolutely convinced that it was a starship full of troopers with dangling tentacles, the starship that is, not the troopers, that came to explore the empty Fenland. My only slight doubt is as the Martian invaders managed to fly across the universe unscathed, then why didn't they see this enormous wind turbine?

I think if any kind of aircraft had hit the turbine there would be extensive wreckage scattered along the flightpath.
I doubt that anything could stay in the air after a collision with a 60 ft turbine blade.

I liked the way the Times quoted the Sun quoting a local resident claiming it was a UFO

I heard tonight that perhaps a meteor caused it, but where did the remains of the meteor go and surely it would have left residue on the turbine?! I don't believe this theory! I wonder if we will ever find out what really caused the damage to the turbine?! Who knows?!

That's precisely the problem, there are no remnants of a meteor to be found. I guess that rules that theory out then! lol!
