BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — In recognition of the unprecedented demand for firearms by nervous consumers, The Outdoor Wire, the nation’s largest daily electronic news service for the outdoor industry, has named President-elect Barack Obama its “Gun Salesman of the Year”. Just goes to show how much attention Americans actually pay to their political landscape
Obama has always supported 2nd ammendment right to bear arms , but as with all right's comes responsibility .....he supports local and state govt jurisdictions initiating gun safety laws .

See, the Second Amendment has nothing to do with hunting or individual self defense, though those are definitely benefits, those reasons aren't the main purpose of the American right to bear arms. The main intent of the Second Amendment is to empower the people of America to fight against tyranny. When the Constitution of this great nation was drafted, we had just beat back the damned British and the founding fathers were wary of government power and tyrants, they wanted the power to be literally in the hands of the people of America, so, if some future government grossly oversteps it's authority, and becomes tryanical and a dictatorship, the ARMED people of America can take the country back and restore the Constitution. The oath for citizenship says "I will defend the Constitution of the United States of America from enemies both foreign and domestic." Those words aren't just there because they're pretty, you are expected to carry it out if required. So yes, the second Amendment means assault rifles, more so than hand guns and hunting rifles. And any administration that steps on the Second Amendment has no respect for the Constitution, and is actually playing with fire, considering the purpose of the second Amendment. So... dream on, the GOP dont stand a chance against Obama in 2012, just like Clinton beat all commers for his second term despite the biggest mudd slinging fest of all time by the rabbid right, and he'd have wiped the floor with gump in 2000 if you didnt have such a stupid system that condems all your presidents to be lame ducks for the last 2 or 3 years of a second and last term.
