Steely Dan asides
1 - I saw them live a few years ago. It was a very boring show. You might as well just buy the records.
2 - I was listening to the fantastic "My Old School" the other day and thinking what a f**k**g great piece of guitar work it is, and looked up who was playing and it was Skunk Baxter. Who, I'd completely forgotten, had moved on from being a brilliant guitarist to being a US defense consultant who is now one of the world's most obsessive missile defense advocates.
3 - I'd also forgotten that Michael McDonald - whose voice I hate in most other circumstances - was their backing vocalist.

I think that's true. Great musician but not a nice man. I haven't a clue about these anti Semitic accusations though. Clearly bollocks if it's just the depictions of fascism in The Wall, which were always there as he says.

He's had a massive widen on for Putin for quite a while and often comes accross as a bit unhinged. Also he's been trying to take all the credit for everything Pink Floyd did for decades now, and appears to get more shrill the less anyone takes him seriously.

Although saying that Mick Taylor's solo here is one of my favourites. It's good way to hear the contrast between Mick and Keith. Keith's is the first solo then Mick's starts at 4:28. Much smoother and classier.

How fantastic is this. Mark Linkous's siblings have been down in the archive of nearly complete stuff he left behind, and we have a new Sparklehorse album coming out over a decade after his death. The second song they've released from it is here. And glorious as you'd expect
