news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/8571929.stmWas anyone else shocked about the media coverage on this seriously flawed experiment imo. How on earth they were given permission to fool people in this day and age is beyond me. How can their conclusions be valid? Surely the audience must have sensed something funny was going on? To conduct an experiment of this kind in the UK would imo not be possible.

This is an old experiment. There was a movie about it years ago. Guess the French just discovered it.

LOL Yord explain? I know Lawrence this is an old experiment (yawns) Milgrams. But to conduct it in the way they have and to offer a judgement based on there finding is imo 'ridiculous'. You just cannot conduct a experiment of this kind in the UK without the full backing from the Ethical Commitee. All of those participants must have signed a form telling them that they were embarking on a research project, for a start. The experiment wouldn't have been allowed to happen (because of insurance purposes) if each participant hadn't signed it. For example what if someone that participated became very anxious and alarmed and it resulted in a heart attack? So, what I am trying to say is that before even the participants of this so called experiment got through the doors, they knew something 'funny' was going on. Wouldn't you?

This experiment is trying to back Milgrams findings, in that ordinary people can behave inhumanly under certain conditions. At the time I think you will find Lawrence he was researching the cruel and inhuman behaviour towards the Jews.

Hardly representative of a French Game show? Maybe I'm wrong.

Sometimes I love psychological research - and its kind of like really amazing. And then you get 'sh*t 'like this and it makes headlines!
