Wow, really? That's very sad. He wasn't well mind. I could never really get into him but sort of appreciated his talent and uniqueness anyway.

Yep, Solid Air is a cracking album.
Sheesh - I remember walking round singing Jelly Roll without really knowing what the stuff was or, more importantly, what the song was really referring to.
