I would imagine that they won't be going out at night while over here if that's the attitude.

Does anybody know what work is involved? Industrial engineering is not the same as getting a bricky in to do a garden wall.
We get sent all over to learn about gear designed and built abroad. What smegs me off is that I haven't blagged a trip to Italy for this yet.

There are thousands of Brits working in Italy.

It's funny how these protesters come out now, and not previous to the recession.

Even so, if we somehow legislated against foreigners working here and Brits working abroad, we'd end up worse off.

When were you last in Italy? I don't recall seeing gangs of Brits working there. Lots of ex-pat Brits moving into Puglia and loving it. I met the woman who does a lot of the translation work for Brits having stuff done to villas. She reckons that they've all completely written Britain off and don't even talk about the place anymore. Bar owners catch on that my daughter and I are on holiday from the UK and tell us how they worked in Bradford or somewhere to get the money to start the bar.

So what are you suggesting? Let Brits work abroad, but don't let any foreigners work in Britain?

So you suggest letting foreigners work here, but put a limit on the number of them that can work for any one organisation?

Gordon isn't the one whinging about it, Sweet Soul.
You're saying it's wrong, so you must have an idea about the alternative you'd like to see? No?
