I will have to check with NY myself. Fortunately I have back channels to him (e.g. Facebook :-)) I'd be very surprised if NY decided to leave.
I do consider it a software design flaw that they placed the Delete Account button so close to the Modify Profile button. I'd *NEVER* do that if I was a programmer for ProBoards: confusing software is bad software - you should always think of the end-user and pre-empt their mistakes (something that is always on my mind when I write programs).

That was an awesome game.
And enough with the perennial gripes about the pads worn by the players. If you'd actually watch a game you'd soon see how hard the hits can be.

Oh I imagine he's gone off to trawl the internet for an even more homoerotic avatar ..... perhaps an American fooballer with a glistening helmet ....

There was a player on TV explaining to a British commentator why the shoulder padding was needed. He said it was to protect from impact damage to the shoulders both now and in the future. It made sense to me.

Makes sense to me, too.
Look at it this way, in playing a contact sport like rugby or (American) football would you rather protect yourself from a (possibly lifelong) dehabilitating injury and wear pads or wouild it be more important to show your "manliness" by not wearing them?

Forgive my ignorance but who was playing who and who won?! Was it a good game! I don't think it was shown over here in the UK.

Hi Libby ...... it's a game played overseas
A so-called 'sport' played in the USA between teams of about 150 players on each team. They need that many reserves 'cos they can't run for long enough to play a complete game. That's also why the game is divided into 'quarters' and they have a 'time out' (known to us as a rest period) every 2 or 3 minutes.
In fact it gets so boring and time consuming that they have to bring on scantily clad ladies to dance every 15 minutes or so to prevent the spectators from leaving.

Nah ....... I saw a film about it once though.
it appears they also employ people to wander around the stadium throwing hotdogs at the spectators to keep them fed and happy so's they they don't leave.
(That's just incase they're bored by the scantily clad ladies)

It's called taking the rip, Marshall. It's all good natured. British humour can be an odd thing. We take the proverbial out of ourselves and sometimes forget that others may not take it with good humour when we do it to them.

My apologies to Marshal........ Mea Culpa !
I still prefer the game of Rugby though - try watching a good international match sometime (that means the best players from different countries playing against each other)

Ha ha the crazy patriotism/xenophobia that always pops up on threads about US/UK sports is always good for a laugh.
I'd actually like to find out what the rules are for American football so I can actually attempt to watch it one day.
The BBC just did a piece on Superbowl highlighting the 'socialist values' of the sport and how premiership football could learn a lot from it. I really wish New Yorker could have seen it. He'd have blown a gasket.
