With mortality rate declining, health care improving by leaps and bounds with advancement in science and technology,I think to discontinue my Insurance premium.I like friends to discuss on this.We do not know the timing of leaving and everything can happen at any moment. This is one side. And the other side is huge premiums that we pay when we know that proper medical care is available and Insurance companies are just keen on collecting premium alone, not in fast settlement of claims.Atleast the youngs should not go for Lfe Insurance or accident insurance unless the premium is made very nominal. Death is certain so why speculate over it?

The only 'for' on having life Ins in my mind is you have children in the family that are dependant on your income - or if you have a mortgage that will leave your family with problems making the payments.
The only other I would say is a decent move is to have something to cover for funeral expenses on your own death, the costs incurred for that now are getting extremely high. I got caught when my Grandmother died and the family stated I was next of kin to her, so I had to pay for the lot, and it hurt - both financially and emotionally.
Most insurance is a rip off, you'd probably do better putting the 'premiums' into savings (or would have been!), they may amount to more - but then again...............

Isn't some Life Insurance tax-free? It's a way to give your spouse/ children access to cash very quickly after your death, without having to wait for Probate etc .... I'm sure we have people who know more about this than me

There are many types of life ins. Return of premium returns all your payments after the policy runs out if you are still alive. Term ins is not that expensive. If you have a family , especially kids that depend on your income you should certainly get covered. Whole life or universal life is a scam. Term only and then only as much as you need. As for statistics showing you will live much longer lives ...hahahahahaha ' Get real.

Silly cow drives at 70mph into stationary car on A40 while sending texts and hyper, kills young woman. Insurance is an offset for accidents to help those that are left behind. Get some.
