A spectacular find if true.
350 ft of water is eminently 'do-able' using modern robotics and mixed gas diving apparatus. The only problem may be the tidal ebb and flow in the Channel. It can be quite severe at times.

Given the amount they claim, it will not go far.

Nah, it's outside of british territorial waters, and so long as they don't land it in the UK, they should be fine! (I think, Beachy, verify?)

What? There's a loophole? Why wasn't Gordon told about this? He's spent the money already.

"Nah, it's outside of british territorial waters, and so long as they don't land it in the UK, they should be fine! (I think, Beachy, verify?) "The only problem would be establishing ownership. If the British Government can prove it's rightfully theirs then the salvage company can only claim a percentage of it's value. However, If it was salvaged from under the governments noses (from outside territorial waters) and stashed in a tax haven .......... who's to say ?

Amazing! What a find! ;D
"Assuming the wreck is indeed that of a British warship, her remains are sovereign immune," he said on condition of anonymity in keeping with government policy. "This means that no intrusive action may be taken without the express consent of the United Kingdom."
I hope there are some British divers present to witness and record the findings. Looks like there's a heck of a lot of treasure on board, brass cannons too. That's presuming it's all still there. The wreckage must have drifted over the years.
