Perhaps you could start on a local scale by dropping birth control pills into the drinks of any Muslim females you might know? Small problem with that, how to get the pill in their drinks? The ones popping out all the sprogs won't be socialising with kaffirs.

I want to see these 'British cultural self-haters' exposed. How do you recognize them? They won't form a queue, or put milk in their tea or play cricket? Or what?

The ones popping out all the sprogs won't be socialising with kaffirs. What all muslim women who plan to have kids stop associating with non-muslims? It is going to be very interesting to see how my friend's husband manages to get her up the duff if that's her attitude. And no I also don't agree with barring people from applying to emmigrate to a country based on the faith that the majority of people in their country of origin follow. I just don't accept that all muslims (generally accepted use of the word, not the Cobbs version) want to bring down Western society and want the imposition of Sharia. In fact many muslims flee such societies. I will however say that I don't have an issue with a French style attitude to granting citizenship/long-term residence which states you have to show sufficient evidence of having integrated into society or rather not demonstrate that you wish to live outside of the social mores of the society in which you inhabit. Although still not sure how you stop muslims having babies.l

Ok, hands up who are the British cultural self-haters? Where are you hiding?
I admit that I hate the fact that a bit of snow brings the country to a standstill.

I don't mind the snow thing. Although this winter has made me pretty unfriendly towards a Britain that has wildcat strikes based on BNP slogans, that goes insane over Ross and Ramsay behaving exactly as you'd expect, where everyone is miserable, where the supposedly left-wing government is so hooked on neo-liberal thatcherite economics that it won't use the banks it owns to behave the way it wants - and instead behaves like all the other useless shareholder just sitting on their hands hoping the company plays nice, where every single traffic light is phased to be out of sync with the others, where half the country is dug up for roadworks, where everything costs a fortune, and nothing is actually very good.
Right now, the only redeeming features are the snow and Oxford's home record. So I probably fall into the cultural self-hate category at the moment.

I bloody hate the snow thing. As I hate snow and 'things that are cold' in general and I hate the fact that Britain collapses at the sign of any weather which isn't slightly cool and slightly rainy.
After going through two Montreal winters, I have gone from finding out inability to cope slightly endearing to downright embarrassing.
Probably agree a bit on the strikes and Ross/Ramsey, plus the banks and roadworks. Oh dear.

It's really not that embarassing. Any area that has it's worst snow for 20 years will have problems.

What about the topic of the thread? Do the people preoccupied with the weather really think that the political beliefs of the fastest-growing section of the population, anchored to a belief system which is inherently antipathetic to our political and value system, are irrelevant to life in Britain?

Can I just ask all the sceptics what future they envisage vis a vis muslims in the UK?
You know so we can compare the accuracy of the two viewpoints in the not too distant future, ie :
1) No problem, nothing to see here; or
2) A bit of a problem, and something we should be concerned about

Are people really honestly totally unconcerned about this? Are muslims and their beliefs, anchored to Islam, and the political power they seek to wield really irrelevant? Don't think anyone is unconcerned. But the motives of those that rant against the Muslims rants leave something in question. Almost invariably the anti-ranters are not satisfied with simply providing specious evidence. They attack anyone who dares to criticise this so called evidence. Generally ending with a round of references to Jews and hollowcosts.

Snow is not an alien concept to Britain though so I expect contingency measures. It's not a fcuking hurricaine, it's snow. And the fact of the matter is anytime we get the slightest bit of snow, heavy rain. heavy sunshine etc...the country breaks down.
So yes, it is embarrassing.

Your avatar is spot on Tarrant.
"the motives of those that rant against the Muslims rants leave something in question"
Which group of 'ranters' is more dangerous?

3) Possibly a problem. But not a lot of point worrying about one bunch of narrow minded fascists seeking to tell everyone what to do and think by allowing another group of narrow minded Nazis seeking to tell everyone what to do and think

How about neither one nor two.
I just genuinely don't see how people plan to stop muslims having kids and as it can't be done I'm not going to run around panicking.
Plus I don't think Britaimn will be an Islamic state in a few years so I'm not going to panic about that either.
But I won't prevent others from panicking if they feel the need.

Vania, Why are you
1) Deflecting the discussion
2) Complaining about people complaingin about the snow.
I'm not complaining, I think it's lovely. And nice to get a day off from work.
Now, back to the discussion please.

Ok, you're on record. We will see who is right.
