"Fitna is a 2008 short film by Dutch parliamentarian Geert Wilders. Approximately 17 minutes in length, the film shows a selection of Suras from the Qur'an, interspersed with media clips and newspaper clippings showing or describing acts of violence and/or hatred by Muslims. The movie wishes to demonstrate that the Qur'an, and the Islamic culture in general, motivates its followers to hate all who violate the Islamic teachings. Consequently, the film argues, Islam encourages, among others, acts of terrorism, antisemitism, violence against women, and Islamic universalism. A large part of the movie deals with the influence of Islam on the Netherlands." - Thanks WIKI
My question "Fitna?" was looking for something, like the above, to tell me what the devil it was.

Link Please??
I have a copy of this movie. I said in an earlier thread that I would find somewhere to post it.
Sadly, at almost 100Megs I can't find any free file sharing sites.
If anyone knows anywhere I can store this film online so it is available to anyone who wants to download it then please say so.

Why are they (trying to) showing foreign political films in the house of lords ? I'm not sure the cry of 'free speech' works in this case, if someone wanted to show bestiality porn in the house of lords and it was rejected you would cry the same, but i digress. I just can't imagine showing a bunch of old men some short political rant is a good use of the house of lords, not that there is any good use.

I suggest that it is more to do with freedom of speech than anything else. If there isn't freedom of speech in the chambers of the Houses of Parliament, there seems precious little hope for the general public

I saw Fitnas when it was first released here in Holland.
The film is not that important. It may have upset the Muslim community, but then again they are permanently upset. I suspect that almost none of the "upset Muslims" have seen the film themselves for it they had they would not be particularly upset.
All it does is quote verses from the Koran against scenes of Muslim violence. It is not particularly well done or very clever.
However, if the professionally outraged Muslims had not spent so much time threatening to kill people who showed it, the film would have probably passed unsen and uncared about for most people. As it is the Muslims have once again supported Wilders efforts against them.

I've posted the link above and people can make up their own minds why Lord Ahmed threatened to provoke a riot to prevent his fellow peers seeing something that is available to all on the internet. Despite efforts to have it removed, it is being re-uploaded constantly.

Not fitna, but the same plot I gather.
Don't even think about linking to hate sites - foxy
Er. Foxy, that was not a hate site, that film is a high budget documentary, it was even shown on tv on the Hannity show over here in the states. Now youi may not agree with it politically, but it is hardly a "hate site". If you are going to step on freedom of speech based upon politically correct political lines, I'm going to leave.

I didn't think much of Fitna either, but then I'm already aware of the contents of the Koran. And it's difficult to do justice to Islam in the space of 15 minutes.
But if people see for themselves the verses Koranic who didn't know about them before, that's a good thing. And if nothing else it gets people talking about it.

The point to get across is the scrapping of the showing cos of threats by ahmed. Not the movie itself.
