Some are being copied and brought over here Tarrant, but frankly, there are over a million posts back there, that makes it one huge archive! I think it was decided to leave it and let it go - may be too late now anyway. However, if anyone has any thread in mind that they want to hang onto, you are free to bring them over and post them yourself here > newsgeneral.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=archive |

You could ask Multiply to migrate it.
It might be possible to get much of the stuff over there to use as an archive. I've done that with my MSN Puffin's nest even though I've started a new one on YUKU. As far as I can see it's been a pretty successful shift. It's not a good posting board but it is a good archive.
Anyone who wanted to join to look for old stuff could do that then. It's an option.

If she does decide to do it she would need to send a group mail tthrough MSN channels to tell those who still had the same mail addys that the group was being archived at Multiply but it wasn't going to be a posting board and to ignore any Multiply mail asking them to join there.

I archived mine because I had collected Jokes, links to songs on Youtube and a large library of quotations over a period of eight years. I don't think I'd have bothered just for threads.

Humph! Have you any idea how many posts there are in Lassie is dead? There are 12488!  For the last few weeks I've been doggedly trying to capture some of them. So far ... and after a lot of puffing and panting and with my paws bleeding ... I've copied nearly 1500 which you'll find in our Hall of Fame. This is on-going and will continue while I've still got breath in my body ... unless MSN demolishes the old site before I've had time to finish of course. If Foxy can easily archive the old threads it would be good as I'm sure there are going to be some threads people will eventually remember and wish they had saved. I have to say .. this is a bit of a U-turn for me as originally I thought it best to let them die a death. We'll have to see what Foxy decides to do for the best. |
