BBC's David Vine dies of heart attack

Veteran BBC sports broadcaster David Vine has died of a heart attack at the age of 73.

Vine fronted a huge list of shows, including Match of the Day, A Question of Sport, Grandstand and Ski Sunday

He had such a distinctive voice.
He'll be missed. Those who knew him say he was a lovely man. He certainly came over that way.

73 is a young age at which to die these days, but I suppose if you have to go, then one massive heart attack is better than a slow lingering demise. I remember David Vine when he co-hosted It's A Knockout with Eddie Waring, particularly the international Jeux Sans Frontieres. Vine was always professional, but came across as a nice bloke also. RIP.
