This was sent to me today by an Australian. I hope it won't be regarded as racist and deleted.
Now here's a thought . . . . If you are ready for the adventure of a Lifetime, try this:
a.. Go to Pakistan , Afghanistan or Iraq illegally. Never mind immigration quotas, visas, international law, or any of that nonsense.
b.. Once there, demand that the local government provide free medical care for you and your entire family.
c.. Demand that all nurses and doctors be fluent in English, and that all food be cooked according to your special specifications in the hospital.
d. Demand free local government forms, bulletins, etc. Be printed in English.
e.. Procreate abundantly.
f.. Deflect any criticism of this allegedly irresponsible reproductive Behaviour with, 'It is a cultural thing; you wouldn't understand.'
g.. Keep your original identity strong. Fly your previous country's national flag from your rooftop, or proudly display it in your front window, or on your car bumper.
h.. Speak only English at home and in public, and make sure that your children do likewise.
i.. Demand classes on English culture in the Muslim school system. J.. Demand a local country driver licence or national insurance number equivalent
k.. This will afford other legal rights and will go far to legitimise your unauthorised, illegal, presence in Pakistan , Afghanistan or Iraq
l.. Drive around with no motor vehicle rego, tax or insurance and ignore local traffic laws.
m.. Insist that local country law enforcement teaches English to all its officers..
N.. Organise protest marches against your host country, inciting violence against non-white, non-Christians, and the government that let you in.
Good luck! You'll soon be dead.
It would never happen in Pakistan , Afghanistan or Iraq (or any other country in the world for that matter) except in the UK, US, Canada or Australia, because we are run by soft, politically correct politicians that are too scared to 'offend' anyone.
If you don't agree, go ahead and try the above in Pakistan, Afghanistan or Iraq

Hmm. A fair amount of that applies to some of the native English speakers I know here in Sweden. I have to put my hands up to speaking English at home, and indeed in public a fair amount.
What's the point of it though, a call to arms to make the UK, US, Canada and Australia a bit more like Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iraq in terms of law enforcement? Weird desire.

When I lived in Paris I spoke only English at home and in Public with English friends.
If I return to live in france I will do the same and I will be speaking to any children I have in English too. Bi-lingualism is a gift to be admired, not something to be looked down on.

Does the poster really want us to be more like Pakistan? We aren't. We are a lot more civilised in our treatment of others. thank goodness. I hope we never deteriorate to those levels, as some seem to want.

I read it as the poster thinking that Britain is wonderful because it's tolerant and liberal, and it's a call to arms to reform countries like Afghanistan and Iraq and turn them into great moderate liberal beacons like Britain is.

I seem to recall seeing this about 12 months ago over on MSN News. History doesn't so much repeat as putrefy.

I don't think so, Andy, I've seen this before and where it's been posted. It's a 'lets get rid of those pesky M***im imigrunts' pusher.
This is the bit that shines the light on it's intent.

But surely nobody (except some loony muslims and barking mad extremist christians) want the US or UK or Canada to be more like Pakistan or Iraq, so that has to be sarcasm and irony.

Incidentally, what's the board consensus on "keeping my original identity strong"? Is it really that awful if I want to have a fireworks party on 5th November? Should I really be speaking Swedish with my British, American, Canadian and antipodean friends over here?

You should integrate properly, and become tall, thin, blonde, hot, sex crazed, slightly racist, basically liberal. You should get hideously drunk lots of the time, but never in public except on booze cruises. You should basically be a bit dull to talk to, and you should take up snow shoeing and cross-country skiing in winter, and canoeing through mosquito-ridden lakes in summer.

As long as in maintaining your identity you don't break the lwas of the country you're living in I don't see the issue.
I honestly did not give two hoots of what French people thought about me speaking English with English people, or going out on the lash (which women do not do) etc...
Why would I. If you wish to have a bonfire night on November 5, why should that become a no no? Why would people expect you to speak Swedish with Australians you meet in Sweden?
I think people who would object to that need to get a life!

Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

I think it's that clever new targeted advertising gizmo that looks up your previous browsing history and finds an advert you might be interested in. I get an advert for Ryanair. I have had the odd Swede come up and ask why I'm speaking English, and my response has hardened over the years to "What the F has it got to do with you seeing as you're not involved in the conversation?". Just wondering if it cuts both ways - should I be berating my English friends for supporting England in the football instead of Sweden? Should I tell them to stop asking if anywhere in Gothenburg is showing the rugby and go watch some ice hockey instead, and so on.

LOL! Funniest thing about this is that it's TRUE!
PC people would never live in a shethole like Afghanistan, coz PC countries like the UK are much nicer! Which shows how stupid PC is!
Doesn't it?

How I do agree with this and this is what I don't get about the people who pregnant dog and moan. If you're not part of the conversation why the hell is it any of your business what language the conversation is conducted in?
And I don't see why your English friends should have to support England if the live in Sweden. In fact I actually don't get why people should be 'expected' to support any team full stop. Ditto your choice in sports. I would probably still watch the world cup if I lived in the US but would pick basketball over rugby any day of the week.

Not that i'd bother flying a national flag or displaying it anywhere other than my underpants, but the attitude toward this is barking. If I, as an Englishman, move to Australia for example, there isn't a hope in Hell of me suddenly ditching my allegience to the English sporting teams

I wondered if someone would try the targetted advert gag. Total miss, miss. I'd get adverts for movie DVDs.
Omnipresent, Britain is still a nice place to live DESPITE the PC, not because of it. Don't define the UK by the rising damp elements in it. It's not a PC country. It's just got too many PC cnuts in it.
