Best job in the world? Earn £70,000 to live on this island, watch whales and scuba dive By Matthew Drake Last updated at 7:43 AM on 12th January 2009 Earn £70,000 to live on this island, watch whales and scuba dive. It is the perfect job to help you forget freezing, credit-crunch Britain. Tourist officials in Australia are looking for somebody to look after a desert island. www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1111965/Best-job-world-Earn-70-000-live-island-watch-whales-scuba-dive.htmlOh yes!!!! Suits me right down to the ground, and then some!

It's MINE ...... I want it ! I've been to Hamilton Island (my brother lives in Brisbane) and it's a beautiful place, although there really is nothing to do except eat, drink and swim. It sounds perfect

Would anybody consider working in Bermuda? I have been offered a job and don't know whether or not to say yes.

I can swim and dive. I can sunbathe to Olympic standards. I'm proficient on t'internet, love eating BBQ'd prawns and drinking beer all day AND I've got my offshore yachtmasters ticket. That trumps your claim !

I've got a friend who's Bermudan. The place sounds pretty nice, but it's a tad conservative, and things are quite expensive because everything has to get flown thousands of miles to get there. I'd be interested in the job, but make sure you have fly-backs and things included in any package. And make sure the salary is decent for the living costs.

Nah, you can't trump me! I know my fishies very well, and can ID whales from afar. I am a coral diver, not a platform one, and I can speak real Oz too!

We'll have to decide this with a wrestling match Sushi. (I doubt that I'd win - but it would be fun trying)

"Tourism officials in Australia's Queensland state have been inundated with applications for what they're billing as the best job in the world. chief executive officer of Tourism Queensland, said that the department had already received 2,000 applications for the job since it was posted on Monday and the website advertising the gig had already received more than a million unique hits"LINKI haven't even got round to applying yet. Looks like my application will be buried under a mountain of others.
