This is a very weird article, as the author, Paul Craig Roberts, is an old school Raeaniste and worked in the US Treasury in the 80s, and is a supply side goon - one of the people responsible for the cabbaged state of the US economy. And now he's raving like Naomi Klein with a dash of 'Protocols of Zion' propoganda.

There is a grain of truth in the article, where he points out that the reason the US economy is in the state it is in is because the US doesn't make things any more, just too much debt sloshing around, but we knew that months - years - ago. Revealing on the 9th of February, 2009 is like announcing, in 1944, that Hitler is a dangerous person who has to be stopped.

Typically of shrill and disillusioned righties, he dennounces the policies he once endorsed and doesn't offer anything like a solution.
