Oxford are set to find out on Monday afternoon if they will be deducted 11 points by the Football Conference for fielding an unregistered player. BBC Oxford understands the charge relates to the registration of midfielder Eddie Hutchinson. The club has issued a statement denying the charge and a hearing is set for Monday in Birmingham. Oxford chairman Kelvin Thomas said: "We are glad to have the chance to talk to the Conference at a personal hearing." Even though Hutchinson, 26, has been an Oxford player since July 2006, clubs are obliged to re-register players at the start of every campaign news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/o/oxford_utd/7818952.stm

Verdict is due any moment.
We could move in one swoop from upper-mid-table mediocrity to lower-mid-table mediocrity.
Really frustrating is that Hutchinson has been our worst and most highly paid player for the last two years, and it's astonishing we've won any points when he's been in the team.

5 point deduction and a massive £500 fine. Fortunes have really dealt a blow to your club over the last couple of seasons, Andy. I was expecting a quick bounce back into the league for your boys. What is going wrong?

I really can't say what's up, Moggs. We've managed to be the only club to win a major trophy to fall through 4 divisions and out of the league. Now we're almost bankrupt and have managed an admin cock-up that's nicked 5 points off us.
Oddly, it's weirdly positive at the moment as we have a new chairman and a new manager both of whom see, at the moment, to know what they're doing.
