Though if I to be honest my dyslexia would have been a majour issue when it came to drug names, I have to be very very careful and check everything now, I fear, had I gone that root, I'd have made mistakes and you can't have a Dr who does that, its why once I thought fully about it I didn't go onto be a nurse practitioner when the opportunity arose. Although you seem to have no problem spelling "pillow to the face".

Yeah, good man. I saw the lass being interviewed recently. Brave girl and a terrible condition. Very hard to watch.

EB is awful, most die very young, within weeks of birth, those that survive live a miserable existence, the sking blisters and breaks, their fingers and toes fuse, it effects joints and mobility.
I've been treating a bloke on and off here for years when I pick up shifts in the community, he's in his 50s and his legs are like raw meat his toes are just a lump and ge can barely stand. And he admits he's been lucky cos his EB is considered mild and non progressive.

So he didn’t actually swim the channel, but swam 1/6 of it as part of a relay team.
Also wearing a wet-suit, which the real channel swimmers will tell you is cheating.

I often remember that when I was a lad in Newquay, wearing a wetsuit while surfing would have been considered the height of effeminacy. An affectation.

I'm surprised Newquay had that kind of night club.

I suppose they're needed for the minority of white men in the NHS.

Looks like the nurses have seen sense. Probably realised that they were hemorrhaging public sympathy.

Looks like the nurses have seen sense. Probably realised that they were hemorrhaging public sympathy. www.ipsos.com/en-uk/support-nurses-strikes-lower-last-months-blame-placed-mainly-government“ Ipsos’ latest poll shows 45% support the upcoming strike action by nurses in England, which is lower than the 50% who supported similar nurse strikes across the UK in December and 59% in November. While support for these strikes has fallen by 2ppt since December, opposition has fallen by 7ppt. Nurses themselves do not appear to be getting the blame for how long the dispute is lasting. Almost 3 in 5 (57%) say the Government is at fault for the longevity of the debate compared to a quarter (25%) saying the Government and nurses are both at fault, and only 9% whole believe the blame lies with the nurses.“

The British Medical Association has said senior doctors will be allowed to do private work during a planned 48-hour strike next month, according to the Daily Mail. The paper says patient groups have called the decision "unconscionable" and accuses the doctors of "profiting from the misery caused" by the walkout. .....just keep clapping people 😟

When my father was ill in Hastings hosp., he asked the consultant if he could get the job done quicker by going private: the consultant said of course, 'but it would still be me doing it here'.

When my dad was hospitalised after his first heart attack, he had insurance and was moved to the private wing to recover in nicer surroundings with better staff. As soon as there was an actual emergency which required medical treatment rather than a nicer hotel rooms, he was moved back to the NHS wards.
