Message 1382 of 12488 in Discussion From: Andrewj100 Sent: 10/4/2001 9:08 AM Possible but I think that message lacked the artisticness or inteligence to be a secret agent! Would guess that was written in post dole que celebrations with a can of special brew! ________________________________ Message 1383 of 12488 in Discussion From: Andrewj100 Sent: 10/4/2001 9:09 AM What does JR stand for then? ________________________________ Message 1384 of 12488 in Discussion From: Poseidon Sent: 10/4/2001 9:12 AM Can't point the finger yet!!! Here's what doesn't add up!! I received a genuine message from Hobo l;ast night about the attack......the tracker software is running exactly as I planned (and that is the safest surest bet ever....the software is failsafe....thst why i took so long on it.....so there is absolutely no doubting about it being tampered with so we can rule out any errors with that!) Hobo, being the crack soldier he is did say except from the major setback of teh attack, the mission to destroy miltary bases seems to be still on course! However, I am disturbed by the information that Wilky recieved......are you not? Opinions please! ________________________________ Message 1385 of 12488 in Discussion From: One Of Many Sent: 10/4/2001 9:12 AM AAARRRGGGHHH MY BABY Did JR (Jack Russell) die a hero's death??? Will he get a medal PLEASE i NEED something to remember him by <sniff sniff> ________________________________ Message 1386 of 12488 in Discussion From: Poseidon Sent: 10/4/2001 9:14 AM Tasha wasa dog nick-named JR (Jack Russel) which heroically lost his life with the SAS team........JR Jnr joined the crack commandos recently but unfortunately has come off worse in the terrible slaughter! ________________________________ Message 1387 of 12488 in Discussion From: Poseidon Sent: 10/4/2001 9:17 AM One of Many They are all heroes....there is nothig more that can be said on the deaths at the moment because as you can imagine, this is a deadly serious matter which isn't widely known yet and things are slightly more unorganised than usual, however Hobo is maintaining control! That sort of thing will be dealt with later, but for now all we can say is BE Strong and some good will come of this.....it must! ________________________________ Message 1388 of 12488 in Discussion From: Andrewj100 Sent: 10/4/2001 9:17 AM Oh dear, poor JR! Didnt realise sorry! Poseidon, are you saying that Wilkiy is the spy or thart Wilky is being fed missinfomation to try and confuse us, I'd find the later more convinsing. No one could possibly want to harm Hobo or Lassie, it's just not possible! ________________________________ Message 1389 of 12488 in Discussion From: Poseidon Sent: 10/4/2001 9:22 AM I am not pointing any fingers yet.....I want opinions Here is the telegram that Wilky received! From: Wilky Sent: 04/10/2001 08:14 Tony Blair is set to reveal compelling evidence to Parliament today. What he won't be telling the MP's on the back benches is that Hobo and Lassie have risked life and limb to get this information to him. We demand recognition for our furry friends in their hour of need, Big Tone (as we like to call him here at Whitechapel - oh no, my cover has been blown). Also - received this telegram last night from our hero's. I've had to edit some of it for national security reasons. To : Classified From: Hobo (Somewhere in Afghanistan) Message Reads Mission going as expected (stop) Casualaties lighter than expected (stop) Please tell Pippin's relatives that Pippin died a heroes death (stop) GPS system on the blink (stop) Send more ammo (stop) Hope to be home soon Hobo --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A number of things: We dont use telegrams, we use an encrypted messaging system built into the tracker software! Casualties lighter than expected?? We just last 4 men!! GPS system on the blink? If that means tarcking software then thats incorrect as I said....its working fine! Could the nice message about Pippin be a cover?? Opinions please!! ________________________________ Message 1390 of 12488 in Discussion From: Poseidon Sent: 10/4/2001 9:29 AM WELL? ? Come on people...this is possibly th most serious thing we may have to face on here! ________________________________ Message 1391 of 12488 in Discussion From: Andrewj100 Sent: 10/4/2001 9:30 AM If the report says the GPS system is on the blink do you think this is missinfomation from the enemy to try not to raise our suspisions if any bizare messages come through. Do you think they are trying to crack the GPS incription system? ________________________________ Message 1392 of 12488 in Discussion From: Poseidon Sent: 10/4/2001 9:33 AM I just dont know!!! I am now very wary of people!!! ________________________________ Message 1393 of 12488 in Discussion From: Poseidon Sent: 10/4/2001 9:35 AM Telegrams sghould not be used and also people appear to be taking a more advanced role in comms! The Hobo has never stopped communicatiing with me......surely he wouldn't run the risk by communication to others too....it just increases the risk! ________________________________ Message 1394 of 12488 in Discussion From: One Of Many Sent: 10/4/2001 9:38 AM In post 1268 wilky said he'd heard from Hobo via a telephone connection that there would be an attack a 1600hrs GMT - Perhaps wilky is a double agent?? Could/would Hobo have contacted Wilky??? Could Wilky be leaving details for his contact to pick up?? Is Wilky is real name?? OMG I'm getting totally paranoid now!!! ________________________________ Message 1395 of 12488 in Discussion From: Poseidon Sent: 10/4/2001 9:42 AM I really dont wanna start pointing any fingers but telephone connection!!! I dont know if he is a double agent or not....he seems to have been genuine before now but there should have been very little comms from Hobo with anyoine else other than me! I too am getting paranoid!!! What do you think? ________________________________ Message 1396 of 12488 in Discussion From: Mitch The Teddy Sent: 10/4/2001 9:43 AM For the record, I feel I need to clarify my position. All I said was Hobo had sent a telegram that had landed on my desk. It was strictly classified and was not, repeat not addressed to me. it may have been a hoax, but I felt it my duty to share news/rumours and hearsay with you all. As for the double agent malarky - that is just laughable. I shall put this own to the very frayed nerves that we all have at the moment. I've been here through the dark times with Posiedon when there was just himself and I keeping the thread alive. I'd hate to think this loyal service would result in my being accussed of trying to plot the downfall of Hobo and Lassie from within. I could never bring myself to hurt a hair on Hobo's head. No no, please don't get the firing squad. I'm innocent, innocent I tells ya ___________________________________

Woah!!!! Paranoia really has set in!!! Remember, Lassie and Hobo are eceptional animals.....there are very few who match up to theor intelligence....thjats what makes them special!! Lets not go accusing everything left right and centre as we will be in a confused state (maybe what an enemy would want!) Those amazing animals are probably just animals that can do tricks and the one off talented thing........I dont see them as a threat. Lets stay calm and collected people, we must keep our wits about us!

You are quite right Poseidon, a measure of calmness is required. I guess through lack of training in the SAS I haven't learned to keep my head in a crisis. Good job Hobo and Lassie are not like this, we would all be doomed otherwise. Your leadership has been a credit to you throughout this crisis. I only hope Mr Blur will recognise this - perhaps a mention in the New Years Honours list would be appropriate. Poseidon OBE??? Not forgetting Hobo OBE - that would be cool!
Not sure about Lassie - Lady Lassie perhaps?

Sorry, had to zip out to get some oil for my motorbike!
Heart shaped one second from right would look ace on Lassie, think second from left would suit Hobo. Or is this a trick questio, are they Hobo's already......... wouldnt supprise me!
As medal are only worn on special occasions then we could probably put them on his dress collar or does he have one of those ceremonila blanket things that go on his back for such occasions.
We amay need to stick a few pins in him on return, probably had a few to go out there, must have been vaccinated up a treat!
Has Hobo got all the evidence of the hair blair bunch regarding Ozmosis Booz Laidle, arrest warrant and all that or id Hob's going to just drag him out kiking and screaming!

Have thought about your suggestion re intoducing boss - not sure he'd go for it - I brought JR to work once (before his untimely demise in Afganistan) and it went down like a lead balloon - not certain my boss is a dog luvva. Have email details of this site to my family - they're not used to going online but I've told them of the response scale required to keep Hobo and Lassie "up there on top" and trust they'll be with us shortly.

Does K9 count though? He isn't a flesh n bone type dog. If you're going to do that you might as well shove a dalek in there with one of those outfits the Afghan women wear to disguise it...just make sure all are issued with correct paper work and passports. You can borrow mine, Im not going anywhere for a while. I got cakes for the office too, but you will note that I did not eat mine, I have parcled it up for Hobo & Lassie to share. Its quite big so there will be plenty.

Andrew100 Sorry I didn't reply before, I got sidetracked (postman arriving imminently!!) Fluke was a dog written about in a book (called Fluke) by James Herbert - the film version was also called Fluke. Fluke was a large mongrel dog who h ad been human in a previous life but couldn't really remember it very well. This meant he could understand complete everything that was said to him (as well as speak to other animal like himself). I am sure that this trait would be invaluable to Hobo, Lassie et al Watchafink?

Dont put yourself down Andrew One of Many - I like your thinking however, Fluke has not been trained as an SAS serviceman and would never have the chance to be trained in time.....best leave it to the professionals!

I know what you mean - after all not all dogs are computer literate and Hobo and Lassie must find it difficult communicating with lesser species (like dusty bin bag liner!) Maybe we could get Fluke to mount a recruitment drive to assist in the war effort - He'd be a great compere for the benefit night, now that poor JR jnr has copped it.

Mornin troops, bit late this morning, just got back from a mercy dash to get those relief parcels on to the RAF jets before they left. Bit of a dash but they're on. Had a bit of trouble with customs explaining that the Bob Marten's weren't in fact narcotics but after a bit of wrangling and £20 slipped under the counter they let it through. What news from the front?

Goes so well with the mango chutney. sh*t I thought I was posting to the Poppadums and Curry thread. Sorry guys. Laughing _______________________________ Message 1563 of 12488 in Discussion From: Poseidon Sent: 10/8/2001 10:55 AM well sparkehorse, Yorksman is getting bored of the thread!!! I feel that we must remain strong in this grave time of war! Lassie and Hobo are fine but have obviously retreated somewhat to allow for the bombings!! They played a great part in this attack as they identified a number of the military bases through covert operations and reported them to their armed forces so that they could attack. Last I heard the whole team have come throug the firsta wave unscathed and are preparing for more intelligence work and more attacks! _______________________________ Message 1564 of 12488 in Discussion From: stroner1 Sent: 10/8/2001 11:07 AM hey poise only messin. no call to go gettin al arsed up on me.. _______________________________ Message 1565 of 12488 in Discussion From: Poseidon Sent: 10/8/2001 11:09 AM ok......one of those days _______________________________ Message 1566 of 12488 in Discussion From: Poseidon Sent: 10/8/2001 11:22 AM come on guys! _______________________________ Message 1567 of 12488 in Discussion From: BettyBabe Sent: 10/8/2001 11:31 AM What the'ell you bin up to? ?? Still only at 1500 replies-you've been slacking-So's the troops who bombed AF last night-only 20 dead? C'mon, gotta do better than that if we're gonna put an end to the evilness of those buggers in the Tal. How's Las. and Hob. Survivin??? Safe??? _______________________________ Message 1568 of 12488 in Discussion From: Sparklehorse Sent: 10/8/2001 11:35 AM Yaaay! Go Lassie! Go Hobo! Maybe I should go over there myself and give ol' bin Liner this cold... it's really nasty, you know..... might at least put him in bed with some Nurofen for a coupla days, and possibly even make the tip of his nose go all crumbly and sore from blowing it on kitchen roll instead of proper tissues..... Whadya reckon? ;D _______________________________ Message 1569 of 12488 in Discussion From: Gooner! Sent: 10/8/2001 11:43 AM Betty, Babe. You have to understand that this is a success for our girl. You see, our objective was to take our strategic points and kill as little civilians as possible. Therefore, the great work by Lassie and Hob in using the laser guiding equipment for the bombers, was carried out almost perfectly. When we send in the ground troops and are told to kill as many people as possible, then you'll notice the true killing skill of our hero's, but in the mean time, its purely strategic targets and nothing else. Well done our girl! _______________________________ Message 1570 of 12488 in Discussion From: Sparklehorse_3 Sent: 10/8/2001 11:50 AM ....or maybe he'd sneeze, you know, really hard and loud and then we'd know which cave he's hiding in, and then.... send in L&H to finish him off? Hey... this might really work, you know? ;D _______________________________ Message 1571 of 12488 in Discussion From: Pippi de Belfry Sent: 10/8/2001 11:55 AM Hey you guys! P.S. If anyone feels like offering me some sympathy for having been poorly last week, then feel free to.... really.... I won't mind..... you know, if you felt like maybe asking me if I was alright now or something.... cos it could have been pneumonia or something, given slightly different circumstances you know.... i.e. that the pneumococcus bacteria was present when I contracted this cold, rather than just the wee wiggly bug that I actually caught.... so I could have died, or anything..... <sniff, sniff>...... _______________________________ Message 1573 of 12488 in Discussion From: murdock Sent: 10/8/2001 11:58 AM I haven't been able to check on Lassie and Hobo for a week, and I was really worried that Lassie or Hobo would have been injured in the attack last night. It's could to know our intrepid heroes are carrying on with the good work. Bored with this thread??? Never. Let it live long and prosper. We have to keep it going until the end of the Afghan thing, otherwise we would not know what had happened to them, and Lassie and Hobo must survive the killing fields of Afghanistan, to at least lighten our lives with Hobo's theme tune, if all else fails. _______________________________ Message 1574 of 12488 in Discussion From: Sparklehorse_3 Sent: 10/8/2001 11:59 AM Pippi, I know there are other people in this thread, they're just keeping wewwy, wewwy quiet.... maybe they're hunting wabbits??..... _______________________________ Message 1575 of 12488 in Discussion From: Pippi de Belfry Sent: 10/8/2001 12:00 PM Oops, make that 1571 (and 1572?) That is so sad, I just loved that Dog and all his films _______________________________ Message 1578 of 12488 in Discussion From: Sparklehorse_3 Sent: 10/8/2001 12:05 PM Well, Pippi.... Firstly, THANK YOU for asking. You know.....for being the ONLY person who asked ..... <sniff, sniff> I still feel a bit ropey actually... still got a sore throat, and I've been having horrible moments where I've swallowed normally, only to find some awful grollie sliding down my throat that was obviously hiding out in my nostrils waiting to pounce, in much the same fashion as bin Liner is hiding out in his caves ..... Anyway, I'm sure L&H will flush him out eventually ..... _______________________________ Message 1579 of 12488 in Discussion From: Sparklehorse_3 Sent: 10/8/2001 12:07 PM Oooh! Murdock! Thanks to you too for asking. Was busy writing and didn't see your posting before I sent mine .... Yes, I know you're right .... L&H are far more important than the nature of my grollies right now. But I still think my idea of giving bin Liner this cold, and hiding out to wait for him to sneeze so we all know where he is is a top idea .... _______________________________ Message 1580 of 12488 in Discussion From: Gooner! Honestly, do it. It'll be worth your while, and b4 u know it, ur gonna be on this thing for DAYS, WEEKS, MONTHS ...... Trust me. Go back and research this discussion, and come back fully educated. I reckon u should view post 1 onwards. _______________________________ Message 1581 of 12488 in Discussion From: Pippi de Belfry Sent: 10/8/2001 12:17 PM Hey Sparklehorse! HOW CRUEL are they all then? I asked and hey, like I'm just a new bug ... (no, that's ok, not as in some awful wee wiggly thingy waiting to infect you with some other awful lurgy ... !) I know exactly what you're on with the groglie thingy, it feels like someone just force fed you cornflakes (no milk-fortunate or UNfortunate?) down your nose and they're abseiling down the back of your throat, yeah?!? I hope you are feeling better and I am glad you are still around to support our friends in the East. _______________________________ Message 1586 of 12488 in Discussion From: Sparklehorse_3 Sent: 10/8/2001 12:42 PM Why thank you, Poseidon. It'll be a looooooong time before our L&H end up going to that big kennel in the sky..... mark my words. People, just remember.... There is some corner of a foreign field,That is forever......England. Or in this case; There is some mound of a foreign sand-dune,That is forever.....<thinking of things that rhyme with sand-dune>...... um......

A friend of mine who knows all about this thread rung me just now saying something about her local radio telling everyone to check out Lassies "Web- site" on the MSN discussion board! It's Us! This is big. i reckon we should contact Chris Moyles at Radio One and tell him all about it. He'll probably take the piss, but it would be well good publicity..... You'll be famous Pos!!! You'll end up in newspapers like the Star and The Sun!!! Think about it, This is the sort of thing you hear about on the news and that. This threads got serious potential. problem is tho, you'll probably get sued by some corporation that owns the word 'Lassie'. By the way, if One of Many is about, - That photo of our girl on the net was quality. I've done some doggie-bone shaped ones for L&H too, so they don't feel too left out ..... hope my pink icing doesn't melt in that Afghanistan heat though ..... _______________________________ Message 1651 of 12488 in Discussion From: Poseidon Sent: 10/8/2001 3:53 PM Just heard from Littlest Hobo himself, ...... he has just come back from a special observation mission and has identified the next likely targets, for security reasons, I can't post them here but he has forwarded on his findings to the US and UK military. __________________________________

Remember how a while back, we were going to do a welcome home benefit night for L&H, and maybe make a film too? We've been beaten too it! <Image missing> Did anyone else know about this? They're doing product merchandising too already - check it out .... <Image timed out>

I'm going to take my employers to court.
At this, the most tense time since L&H went behind the lines, they are expecting me to do work. And then, just when things couldn't get any worse some tea-leaf has our film idea away

Well, we could always take a leaf out of the Police Academy book, and do a few hundred sequels?

Have no fear ...... that Lassie film was based on the fictional show which she appeared in, in the US ...... our film will be a joint film witrh the Littlest Hobo (with his tune of course) and will be based on a true story!! Don't panic! Anyway, thats the film sorted so we dont need to worry about that anymore. Thijgs are certainly getting exciting in Afghanistan, thanks to our boys (and girl)!

Yeah, fair enough Poseidon, but the bastards have got the fanzines covered too! They're profiteering from our heros! We can't let this happen! >No image> (besides, that was our idea) ...... There's even a crappy sci-fi spin-off already .... <Again, image has timed out> How am I supposed to feed Posy when these Lassie-monopolising thieves have stolen all the rights? Someone tell me!

Don't get Poseidon started on the those Greek God shots.
We've only just managed to calm him down from last time. Do you see though, just because Yorksman was a touch bored, I think we have all proved that (if you'll pardon the expression) "there's plenty of life in the old dog yet" "Maybe tomorrow - I'll have less work to do"

NOW,if only we had him on side (Cujo, NOT emphatically Phil Collins ...) we could wrap this up in a few, slobbering rabies ridden days, bring our heroes home and start planning the big welcoming party!Still, then we'd lose the thread, so to speak, so perhaps we all ought to be doing our bit and hope for a slightly more drawn out - but of course bloodless - coup? One other small thing, being new to this and all, do any of you actually know each other or is this all pure chance? Probably off soon, so until tomorrow me hearties ! _______________________________ Message 1678 of 12488 in Discussion From: Sparklehorse_3 Sent: 10/8/2001 5:56 PM Pip, I can categorically say that I haven't a - wait for it - scooby doo - (did you like that?!) - who all these people are - it is possible that some of 'em know eachother, but I can't count myself in that particular batch ..... Not long to go eh? Oh - and Pip? Probably best not to mention that to Poseidon yet - he might have forgotten, ok?
