Message 1682 of 12488 in Discussion From: Mitch The Teddy Sent: 10/9/2001 9:40 AM Oh pleaseeeeeeeee Call me old fashioned but the thought of seeing even our leaders Little Posiedon is just too much for my stomach to take. No offence Big P, but please, for the love of L&H keep it in your slacks _______________________________ Message 1683 of 12488 in Discussion From: Poseidon Sent: 10/9/2001 9:42 AM Thats what I have been trying to say!!! It is well and truly stowed away! _______________________________ Message 1684 of 12488 in Discussion From: Poseidon Sent: 10/9/2001 10:20 AM Come on!!! Where is everyone? ? _______________________________ Message 1685 of 12488 in Discussion From: Poseidon Sent: 10/9/2001 10:22 AM By the way, the UN building that was hit last night was nothing to do with our SAS team ...... Hobo has said that the targets given to the miltary were clear!!! It was only the US miltary involved in last nights and this mornings attacks so somewhere along the lines, the US slightly cocked it up! _______________________________ Message 1686 of 12488 in Discussion From: Thoades Sent: 10/9/2001 10:39 AM Did you see sky news last night at about 12:45? If you did you will have seen Lassie escortin Yvonne Ridley across the border in to Packistan, you had to look carefull (with her bing SAS trained she can't show her face dont forget) but I saw her just dart around the back of the van when she got out. Lets here it for Lassie!! _______________________________ Message 1687 of 12488 in Discussion From: Poseidon Sent: 10/9/2001 10:41 AM I can confirm, that what Thoades saw was true! i have had reports on it this morning ....... the SAS without being directly involved oversaw, the safe passage of Miss Ridley! _______________________________ Message 1688 of 12488 in Discussion From: Satan's Mistress Sent: 10/9/2001 10:44 AM No doubt Ms Ridley will clear up this little mystery by thanking Lassie in her new, gripping book: "Yvonne's Adventures in Afghanistan" to be published by Faber and Faber in spring _______________________________ Message 1689 of 12488 in Discussion From: Poseidon Sent: 10/9/2001 10:50 AM Sorry, you misunderstand ..... Miss Ridley has no idea that she was being guarded by the SAS and she certainly wont know it was Lassie (we hope). Unfortunately there wasa very brief glimpse of an SAS soldier on the news (which isn't THAT unusual as everyone knows about them) however no one would be able to tell it was Lassie .... she would be far too prepared for that!! _______________________________ Message 1690 of 12488 in Discussion From: Satan's Mistress Sent: 10/9/2001 10:55 AM But if Thoades could catch a brief glimpse of Lassie's plumy tail on Sky News, Ms Ridley, intrepid journalist and amateur detective that she is, would have been able to deduce that she was being guarded by Lassie because of the distinct odour of dog coming from her mysteriously wrapped-up guardian with the wispy blond beard and the wet black nose? _______________________________ Message 1691 of 12488 in Discussion From: Poseidon Sent: 10/9/2001 11:04 AM Have no fear, Lassie would have been travelling in the shadows and would not have been discovered ......... it is only us select few that know about it!!! By the way, Miss Ridley is clearly not that great a journalist or detective as she was caught!! _______________________________ Message 1692 of 12488 in Discussion From: Pippi de Belfry Sent: 10/9/2001 11:06 AM Morning all! (sorry, afternoon ... ?) reporting for duty, "England expects" and all that ... is there any truth in the rumour that the Queen Mum - Gawd bless you ma'am!- is sending in her crack battallion of corgies to aid the effort? Oh, and hi Sparklehorse, my ally in red-headedness ... S'right, we're definitely NOT ginger, are we ?!? _______________________________ Message 1693 of 12488 in Discussion From: Satan's Mistress Sent: 10/9/2001 11:08 AM I am reassured, Poseidon. I'd hate to think that Lassie would have to be put down because she'd been discovered. LASSIE LIVES!!!! Perhaps she'll lead the troops to Bin Laden? All she has to do is sniff one of his shoes and (after she's recovered from the whiff) track him across the desert. _______________________________ Message 1694 of 12488 in Discussion From: Poseidon Sent: 10/9/2001 11:08 AM I am afraid that was just a rumour!!!! Her corgies are all stuck up little shits who dont know anything about anything .........They will not be joining our highly trained forces!! _______________________________ Message 1695 of 12488 in Discussion From: Poseidon Sent: 10/9/2001 11:09 AM maintenon You never know ..... especially with the aid of the Littlest Hobo .... anything is possible! _______________________________ Message 1696 of 12488 in Discussion From: Mitch The Teddy Sent: 10/9/2001 11:13 AM Hobo - modest as ever allows Lassie to be almost caught on camera but steers well clear himself That guy is a legend __________________________________

Think the Queen Mo's corgies are more of a show thing, like the guards with the silly hats and read coats. Very handy for US tourists but not entirely practical in a war situation.
Gawd my head hurts today, cheep beer, stay away from ....... when will I learn!

Those Corgies wouldn't last 5 minutes!!! Its taken years of extensive training for our girl to get where she is. Maybe she should work more closely with the US instead of British troops, so that certain UN buildings stand un-affected!!! Do u reckon after all this Lass will get involved in training? Obviously her skills could very beneficially be passed on.

The pub round the corner from me (the racehourse, Northampton) does quiz night with cheep Stella. I can drink 4 pints of stella in any pub and wake up a tad thursty but otherwise unscathed.
3 pints of the stuff in the hourse last night and I'm poised to dial 999!
How can any pub do this to mass produced Lager?

Cut the sea cucumbers at the stomach, and gut. Leave whole. Hard-boil the pigeon eggs, let cool and shell. Halve the cabbage hearts lengthwise and chop into 2 1/2 inch (7cm) sections. 2. Rub the sea cucumbers with 1 tsp. of the salt. Plunge into boiling water for 2 minutes, remove and drain. Blanch the cabbage hearts briefly in the salted boiling water, remove, drain and set aside. 3. Put the sea cucumbers in a wok and add the soy sauce, the remaining 1 tsp. salt, the rice wine, sugar, scallions, ginger, chicken stock, and MSG(optional). Bring to a boil and simmer for 2 minutes. Add the cornstarch-water mixture and cook, stirring, until thickened. Arrange the sea cucumbers and cabbage hearts alternately in a circle on a plate, and sprinkle with the melted chicken fat. 4. Heat the oil in a wok until the oil surface ripples. Add the eggs and deep-fry until golden. Arrange the eggs around the sea cucumbers and serve. Murdock,
I like your thinking. Why don't we compile a playlist for the karaoke machine air-drop? We've already decided he'll need a Gary Glitter style outfit to sing in, so the costume's sorted, but songwise .... hhhmmmmm ..... To recap, we have: 1. You Need Hands - Max Bygraves 2. You're a Pink Toothbrush etc. etc. - Max Bygraves 3. Knocking on Heaven's Door - Pick one of the many cover-version artistes as req'd. Now, what else?....

Wilky Wot a fab song - you're gonna get voted as lyricist (if that's how you spell it) for the H & L Album I would REALLY love to hear Hobo do a rendition of "Born to be Wild" it would totally freak that old Bin Liner git face Then Lassie could sing the old Queen number "It's in the Lap of the Dogs"
