It's in the newspapers, including Israeli newspapers. Ha'aretz reports the role of rabid jihadist rabbis urging on the troops to mass murder and devastation in the invasion of Gaza.

Which serves as a definite proof of #1's "...atheism is simply a state of ignorance. " You ARE an atheist aren't you Berty?..... Only by bringing the above quote from Haaretz to answer my post, its more like 'stupidity' than 'ignorance'. What has that quote of alleged actions by Rabbis to do with the fact that atheism is simply a state of ignorance. ? Or with the fact that you know NOTHING about the Religious freedom in Israel. Don't try to answer that Bertrus2. Its high above you level of comprehension.

you know NOTHING about the Religious freedom in Israel. There is a minority of fanatical religious Jews and they have disproportionate influence because they are aligned with the racist nationalism on which Israel is built. During the fighting in the Gaza Strip, the religious media - and on two occasions, the Israel Defense Forces weekly journal Bamahane - were full of praise for the army rabbinate. The substantial role of religious officers and soldiers in the front-line units of the IDF was, for the first time, supported also by the significant presence of rabbis there. The chief army rabbi, Brigadier General Avichai Rontzki, joined the troops in the field on a number of occasions, as did rabbis under his command.www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/1058758.html

As to those Rabbis and the other quote from Haaretz, The IDF is now checking the validity of those reports and will make the findings public. So lets wait for that and not "jump the gun" on every sort of story that the Media are so eager to publish. Does the name Muhamad-a-Dura strike a bell?

How are they going to check out reports of the role of rabbis and religious soldiers when it is the army newspaper itself that is actually reporting and praising the actions of the religious in transforming the attack on Gaza into a Jewish jihad?

Precisely what are you disputing in the report of the death of a Durah as stated by the Israeli Centre for Human Rights? What alternative version are you proposing and on what evidence?
Unresolved libel cases in the French courts are quite marginal.

The French TV admitted that that film was a fake.
The only thing that is "unresolved" is the question of knowing by the Network that the film was a fake stage- up . If so the reporter is entitled to damages etc. It was proved without a shadow of a doubt that it was a stage up. The body that was buried was of someone else who died before the film was taken.

Try this link for size, dear lier. It's very convincing, if true. However, allegations by one of the parties to the libel suits does not amount to proof of the facts.

Now, lets reurn to the subject of this interesting thread:
I say that atheism is simply a state of ignorance.
And I can add that an atheist is not one who does not believe in god but one who believes that he is his own god.
